Compliance & CoSec Team Leader Finance Acumen Group Until 2026/07/22 Full time Fully remote Job description Job Overview The Compliance & CoSec Team The Compliance & Company Secretarial (CoSec) team is based in South. The Compliance function is committed to building an internal best practice Risk, Compliance and Governance frameworks for each subsidiary and the Group as a whole, that adheres to all relevant legal standards and internal policies across several international markets. In addition to the services offered internally to the Group, the CoSec function acts as the company secretariat to numerous clients based in Bermuda. The Compliance & CoSec Team Leader The Compliance & CoSec Team Leader is a strategic partner to the global business leadership team. They build and execute the Compliance program and provide guidance on compliance risks to the business. They ensure that the business is kept up to date on regulatory changes and adheres to all legal standards. They lead a team of Risk Management and Company Secretarial Specialists and build a culture of integrity and ethical business conduct within their team and across the group. They take the lead in delivering efficient, quality Compliance and CoSec services to Acumen Clients.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Building strong, collaborative partnerships with business leaders, employees and Acumen Clients Establishing the reputation as a trusted ‘go to’ subject matter expert Managing Compliance and Company Secretarial teams, processes and programs that deliver a fit-for-purpose global Compliance framework Own accountability for the integrity and efficiency of the function Manage CoSec function, including providing hands-on CoSec support e.g. drawing up resolutions, registers (directors, members and authorized signatories), preparing certificates of incumbencies, ensuring clients beneficial ownership on registers & ROC are up to date, and ensuring client statutory folders are kept up to date Ensuring that function Zoho tickets are addressed within established SLA’s Support leaders (internal and clients) to identify and manage Compliance and business risks, delivering compliant outcomes Staying up to date on changes in legislation in all markets that the business operates in, ensuring implementation of compliance impacts Providing training and guidance regarding Compliance and Risk Management processes, driving a culture of ‘risk aversion’ within the leadership and employee communities Writing & implementing company Compliance and Data Privacy policies and conducting annual policy compliance reviews Ensure compliance with Codes of Conduct and other Company compliance policies Overseeing Data Breaches across the Group Providing Compliance inputs on Conflict of Interest and Whistleblowing cases Identifying operational compliance risks and implementing Risk Remediation strategies across the group Providing timely Executive Reporting input, as required
Delivering on assigned Risk Management projects that protect the group’s risk profile Responsible for Business Development of the Acumen Outsourced Company Secretarial Service, building the Acumen brand and delivering on client expectations Proposing and driving initiatives that foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture, in partnership with business leaders Supporting the Executive Leadership team to deliver on Compliance priorities, as needed Roll out compliance training as needed Manage the insurance requirements of the group Conduct 2nd tier review of AML Risk Assessments Oversee KYC for CoSec and Insurance Management clients Take the lead in solving ad hoc Compliance & CoSec questions where there are no existing precedents
REQUIREMENTS
The Compliance & CoSec Team Leader has proven experience in building and delivering Compliance solutions and a Risk Management Framework They have experience in acting in a CoSec role They have the subject matter expertise required to quickly identify potential risks to the business and have a track record in partnering with the business to build remediation solutions They are constantly looking for opportunities to enhance processes and bring efficiencies to their function They lead projects from design to delivery They have significant experience working in multinational companies, advising business leaders across several international markets, preferably with experience in Bermuda They are excellent communicators (written and verbal) and partnership builders
They have strong organizational and leadership skills and have proven experience in leading Compliance & CoSec solutions to successful conclusions They have strong analytical and problem-solving skills They have the inner gravitas to deliver unwelcome messages to senior business leaders, when needed, and enforce a culture of compliance and risk management.
