Retail Sales Manager job vacancy in Durban.
Minimum Requirements:
Syspro experience required
Understanding of Retail processes and procedures
Minimum of 4 to 5 years’ experience in Retail Sales
Must have previous Retail Management experience – at least 2 to 3 years’ experience required
Must have the relevant experience and knowledge in the Industrial Hardware, Steel and Fluid Control Industries
Must have a vibrant personality, extrovert
Strategic thinking and planning
Managerial skills required
Must be able to work in a pressurized environment
Must have a strong personality and be able to lead and manage a team effectively
Computer literate
Key Performance Areas:
Supervise and co-ordinate the day-to-day activities of customer service, staff, stock and inventory workers, cashiers, and sales associates of the entire retail store
The aim of any Retail Manager is to maximise profits while minimising costs
Retail Sales Manager will interview and hire employees, direct training, and conduct performance evaluations
Set work schedules and assign job duties for efficiency
Provide customer service, which can include answering questions or responding to customer complaints
In managing the business, Retail Sales Managers may track inventory, place merchandise orders, monitor sales, sign off cash drawers’ reconciliations and receipts, and inspect the store to adjust product displays
Ensure promotions are run accurately and to the Company’s standards
Ensure that staff are all working towards the target for the day and that excellent customer care standards are always met
Manage and motivate a team to increase sales and ensure efficiency
Manage stock levels and making key decisions about stock control
Analyse sales figures and forecasting future sales
Analyse and interpret trends to facilitate planning
Use information technology to record sales figures, for data analysis and forward planning
Deal with staffing issues such as interviewing potential staff, conducting appraisals and performance reviews, as well as providing or organising training and development
Ensure standards for quality, customer service and health and safety are met, resolving health and safety, security issues
Respond to customer complaints and comments
Promote the organisation locally by liaising with local schools, organising special promotions, displays, events, open days, and weekly advertising in local newspaper
Attend and chair meetings; sales meetings, H&S and security meetings
Update colleagues on business performance, new initiatives and other pertinent issues
Tour the sales floor regularly, talking to colleagues and customers and identifying or resolving urgent issues
Maintain awareness of market trends in the retail industry, understanding forthcoming customer initiatives and monitoring what local competitors are doing
Initiate changes to improve the business
Open and close of the retail store
Daily sales meetings with retail staff and attend security meetings
