That’s the Girl Effect. Background and Objective Girl Effect Tanzania is seeking an experienced production professional to cover the Digital and Production Manager role during the post holder’s maternity leave. The role manages all content production for Tujibebe, Girl Effect’s youth brand in Tanzania, including its community radios, social media, IEC materials, etc. The main purpose of this cover is to keep production running without interruption: projects delivered on time, on budget and to brand standard; the right people found and contracted for each project; schedules kept accurate; and every part of each production completed. The post holder will also maintain Tujibebe’s digital and social channels using existing plans and processes, so that reach and audience interaction are kept up during the cover period. This is a full-time individual consultancy and does not create an employment relationship. The consultant must personally deliver the assignment and may not substitute another person or hold another conflicting full-time engagement during the contract period. What You will do Production management (approximately 70% of time) – Lead end-to-end production of Tujibebe’s audio products and community radio content: planning, scripting support, recording, post-production, quality assurance and delivery to broadcast partners. – Manage production coordination for Tujibebe and Girl Effect Tanzania, including shoots, events and workshops: scoping, scheduling, locations, logistics, call sheets, safeguarding and consent processes, and wrap. – Find, brief, contract and manage creative crew, freelancers and agencies, including producers, presenters, scriptwriters, photographers, videographers, graphic designers, illustrators and animators, so that all work is aligned with brand objectives and direction. – Build and maintain an accurate production calendar so that every part of each production is completed on time, and flag risks to delivery early. – Own production budgets: prepare cost estimates, raise purchase orders and supplier contracts, track spend, and complete reconciliations at the close of each project. – Hold the quality bar for all content, checking it against brand guidelines, editorial standards and Girl Effect’s safeguarding and content policies before release. – Make sure audience feedback and insights from the talk show and channels are acted on in the next round of production. – Look for ways to make creative and production processes more efficient and effective, and record them for the returning post holder. Digital platform maintenance (approximately 20% of time) – Maintain Tujibebe’s digital platforms (IVR and social) following the existing content plan, so that reach and interaction are kept up. – Write and sign off copy for social media posts, Tujibebe website articles and SMS blasts, working with freelancers and influencers where needed. – Support ad-hoc and campaign activity, including product and brand re-launch communications, as directed by the Senior Brand and Content Lead and the global team. – Track and report on basic channel performance alongside production delivery. Handover, coordination and reporting (approximately 10% of time) – Complete a structured handover with the post holder at the start of the cover and with the returning post holder at the end. – Work across Girl Effect’s matrix structure with local and global teams, including brand, insights, safeguarding, finance and partnerships. – Contribute to strategic initiatives or planning when asked. This is occasional and not a routine accountability of the cover role. Management Arrangements The consultant will: – Report to the Creative Director, Girl Effect Tanzania. – Work day to day with the Tujibebe Create team and relevant local and global functions. – Participate in weekly production-status meetings and other essential project meetings. – Manage external creative suppliers only within delegated authority and approved budgets. – Maintain availability during agreed Tanzania working hours. – Promptly escalate urgent delivery, safeguarding, financial or reputational risks. – Work full time, approximately 40 hours per week, primarily Monday to Friday, with reasonable flexibility for approved production schedules. – Obtain prior approval for planned absences and provide an appropriate handover for urgent matters. Who You Are Qualifications and experience Essential – Around 3–5 years’ experience in content production, with a track record of delivering audio, video or broadcast content to schedule and budget. – Hands-on experience of every stage of a creative production: scoping, budgeting, pre-production, production, post-production, quality assurance, reconciliation and retrospectives. – Experience of directly managing production partners, agencies, crew and consultants to produce high-quality creative work. – Experience of working with creatives across a range of disciplines, including creative directors, producers, scriptwriters, copywriters, designers, illustrators and crew. – Strong production planning, scheduling and budget management skills, including supplier contracting and financial reconciliation. – Multiplatform or integrated production experience. – Experience of working in cross-functional teams and complex matrix reporting structures. – Fluency in Kiswahili and English, written and spoken. Desirable – Experience producing content for young people, particularly girls, or on health and social topics, including safeguarding and informed consent practice. Working style – Highly organised and delivery-focused; able to step into live projects quickly and keep them moving. – Able to move between big-picture planning and the detail of an individual production. – Brings structure and order to processes, and leaves clear records so work can be handed back smoothly. – Engaging and communicative, balancing humility and authority; an excellent communicator in person and in writing. – A solutions-focused problem solver who shows energy and resilience and avoids unnecessary bureaucracy. – Adaptable to situations and people, and respectful of and sensitive to multiple cultural contexts. Expert Application Advice
Show how you delivered les compétences demandées dans l'annonce in a real project. At Girl Effect, hiring managers look for proof, not promises—give a 2-line result with numbers or impact.
Positioning — Your cover letter must answer one question: why YOU for THIS specific role right NOW? Avoid generic templates — one sentence on what you specifically bring beats three generic paragraphs.
Technical leadership — Prepare an example of an architectural decision you made, with constraints (budget, timeline, team) and outcomes. African CTOs look for someone who managed real complexity, not just knows the theory.

- •Never pay any amount of money — for a file, a training, a uniform, or an interview. A real employer never asks the candidate to pay.
- •Never send a photo of your ID card, passport, or banking details before you have physically verified the employer exists.
- •Always meet in a public place, during the day — never an isolated address, a private home, or a location you cannot verify in advance.
- •Tell a relative or friend exactly where you are going, with whom, and at what time — and share your live location if possible.
- •Search the company name online before going: a real business has a trace (website, reviews, other employees, an official address).
- •A salary that is far above the market rate for the position and the city is a red flag — be extra cautious.
