Position: School Bursar (1 Position) Institution: Nkhwazi Primary School Location: 8 Ituna Road, Ridgeway, Lusaka, Zambia Employment Type: Full-Time Key Duties & Responsibilities: Directing and overseeing all financial operations, accounting functions, and budget administration of the school. Preparing annual budgets, cash flow projections, and regular financial management accounts for the School Board and Head of School. Managing school fee billing, collection strategies, banking, and treasury functions. Ensuring full compliance with Zambian tax legislation, statutory bodies (ZRA, NAPSA, NHIMA, Workers Compensation), and accounting standards. Managing school payroll, staff emoluments, procurement approvals, and vendor payments. Coordinating and facilitating internal and external annual financial audits. Supervising, mentoring, and evaluating the accounting and finance support team. Advising the Board of Governors on financial planning, sustainability, investments, and risk management. Minimum Qualifications and Requirements: Grade 12 Certificate or its recognized equivalent. A Degree in Accounting ; alongside professional certification: CA Zambia, full ACCA, CIMA , or equivalent. At least five (5) years of relevant work experience in financial management and accounting (experience in an educational institution is an added advantage). Must be a member of the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA) with valid 2026 membership. ZAQA certification of academic qualifications. Proven leadership, high integrity, strategic financial acumen, and proficiency in modern accounting packages and spreadsheet applications.
