Main duties
Develop and implement plans for the prevention, control and eradication of animal diseases. Conduct medical examinations and diagnoses to detect and monitor animal diseases. Make treatment prescriptions and work in collaboration with the purchasing department for the authorizations of the Order of Veterinary Doctors of Cameroon and the texts in force. Advise and train staff on good breeding, birthing, hygiene and biosecurity practices. Ensure the availability of veterinary products and their proper conservation. Conduct regular visits to the farm and hatchery to monitor animal health. Participate in the implementation of vaccination programs and management of epizootics (prophylaxis). Perform health inspections and compliance checks of production practices on the farm and hatch it. Organize and participate in the management of health emergencies. Perform autopsies of corpses and/or sick animals, then establish prescriptions following these autopsies. Evaluate hygiene practices at the site. Veterinary Doctor degree required. Minimum 5 years of proven experience in poultry production. Good knowledge of animal health and zootechnical management practices in poultry farming.
