Serenity Medical Center is a 24-hour multidisciplinary healthcare facility located in Damas, Yaoundé. The Center is seeking a technically strong, ethical and proactive professional to support the Administrator in finance, internal controls, staff coordination, service efficiency and institutional growth.
The Assistant Administrator – Finance & Administration serves as a hands-on deputy to the Administrator. The role consolidates the clinic’s accounting and financial-control functions, while also assuming delegated supervision of non-clinical administration. The General Supervisor and Medical Secretary will report administratively to this position.
Responsabilités
Core duties and responsibilities:
Maintain journals, ledgers, bank and cash records, receivables and payables, monthly closings, budgets, forecasts and management reports.
Reconcile patient reception, EMR and service registers with invoices, receipts, cash, mobile-money transactions, bank deposits and insurance claims; investigate discrepancies.
Enforce documented approvals, track exceptions, conduct stock checks, control expenditures, escalate fraud risks and monitor financial transactions.
Coordinate daily non-clinical activities under the Administrator; supervise the General Supervisor and Medical Secretary, establish action plans and follow up on service issues.
Monitor reception, patient flow, shift coverage, facilities, hygiene, resource readiness, complaints and corrective actions in collaboration with clinical teams.
Support recruitment, staff files, attendance, payroll preparation, training, performance follow-up and applicable tax, CNPS and statutory filings.
Coordinate insurer claims and collections, supplier documentation, expenditure plans, outreach activities, corporate partnerships and verified marketing performance.
Oversee the accuracy of EMR and paper registers, maintain secure Excel dashboards, reconcile pharmacy and laboratory stocks, and manage fixed assets and controlled records.
Clinical decisions remain the responsibility of licensed practitioners. Major HR and financial approvals remain with the Administrator/CEO. Material financial records and reconciliations will be reviewed by the Administrator/CEO and independent or external auditors.
The selection process may include a practical Excel/accounting and patient-revenue reconciliation exercise, a supervisory case study and a competency-based interview. Professional references and qualifications may be verified. Applications will be assessed against the requirements of the role.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree (Licence/Bac +3 or equivalent) in Accounting, Finance, Audit, Management, Business Administration or a closely related field.
Expérience
At least 3 years of hands-on accounting or finance experience, including reconciliations, cash and bank controls, ledger management, expense verification and financial reporting, with demonstrated staff or cross-functional coordination.
Working knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping, SYSCOHADA/OHADA accounting principles and basic payroll, tax and CNPS administrative processes.
Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including advanced formulas, lookups, pivot tables and reconciliations, as well as aptitude for accounting software and electronic patient or billing systems.
Demonstrated integrity, confidentiality, managerial judgment, leadership, clear reporting, attention to detail and ability to investigate exceptions.
Good professional or functional French and English, both written and spoken.
Preferred qualifications and added advantages:
Master’s degree or recognized professional accounting certification, completed or in progress.
5 or more years of relevant experience and at least 1 year of staff or team supervision.
Experience in healthcare, clinics, laboratories, pharmacies, insurers, corporate receivables or multi-service financial operations.
Experience with EMR, Sage, Odoo, QuickBooks, Power BI, mobile-money reconciliation, inventory management, internal controls or supervisory SOPs.
Experience overseeing patient service quality, staff coordination, budgets, insurer claims, commercial outreach and process improvement.

To stand out for this junior role at Serenity Medical Center, don't list duties—show how you meet Excel with a simple example from school or a past internship. Keep it short: one sentence on the action, one on the result. Employers spot readiness fast.
Positioning — Your cover letter must answer one question: why YOU for THIS specific role right NOW? Avoid generic templates — one sentence on what you specifically bring beats three generic paragraphs.
Efficiency and discretion — Quantify your added value: correspondence handled weekly, operational budget managed, events organized. Discretion is proven by your references — ensure they're reachable and positive.

•Never pay any amount of money — for a file, a training, a uniform, or an interview. A real employer never asks the candidate to pay.
•Never send a photo of your ID card, passport, or banking details before you have physically verified the employer exists.
•Always meet in a public place, during the day — never an isolated address, a private home, or a location you cannot verify in advance.
•Tell a relative or friend exactly where you are going, with whom, and at what time — and share your live location if possible.
•Search the company name online before going: a real business has a trace (website, reviews, other employees, an official address).
•A salary that is far above the market rate for the position and the city is a red flag — be extra cautious.
