Job Description Save the Children is seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Officer (MEAL & Advocacy) – Power of Nutrition Project to support the implementation of the Kulimbikitsa Anthu Kupatsa Ana Tsogolo Lowala (KAKATL) project in Ntcheu and Balaka districts. The five-year programme, implemented in partnership with GiveDirectly and IFPRI, aims to address the root causes of chronic malnutrition and improve early childhood development outcomes among vulnerable communities in Malawi. The Project Officer (MEAL & Advocacy) – Power of Nutrition Project will provide technical leadership in monitoring, evaluation, accountability, learning, research, documentation, and advocacy for the project. The role holder will coordinate the design and implementation of project monitoring systems and databases, support evidence generation and learning, and ensure timely reporting in line with donor and organisational requirements. The position will also play a critical role in strengthening advocacy initiatives, community accountability mechanisms, and knowledge management systems to improve nutrition, social protection, and ECD outcomes. Working closely with the PoN Project Manager, District Project Coordinators, and the Regional MEAL team, the Project Officer (MEAL & Advocacy) – Power of Nutrition Project will contribute to quality programme implementation, cross-learning, and evidence-based decision making across the project. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated MEAL professional who is passionate about child wellbeing, evidence generation, and strengthening systems that contribute to improved nutrition and early childhood development outcomes for children and communities in Malawi. In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder may be required to work outside the normal role profile and vary working hours accordingly.

  • •Never pay any amount of money — for a file, a training, a uniform, or an interview. A real employer never asks the candidate to pay.
  • •Never send a photo of your ID card, passport, or banking details before you have physically verified the employer exists.
  • •Always meet in a public place, during the day — never an isolated address, a private home, or a location you cannot verify in advance.
  • •Tell a relative or friend exactly where you are going, with whom, and at what time — and share your live location if possible.
  • •Search the company name online before going: a real business has a trace (website, reviews, other employees, an official address).
  • •A salary that is far above the market rate for the position and the city is a red flag — be extra cautious.
