Job Description
Location: Upper East and North-East regions of Ghana with periodic visits to the Tamale office.
Frequent or occasional visits to other countries covered by Tree Aid.
Duration: One year renewable with a probation of 03 months, subject to performance and funding
availability.
Responsible to: Country Programme Manager
Overall aim:
The Project Coordinator will oversee the general coordination, implementation, and monitoring of a Nature-Based Solutions project. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders, planning and reviews and ensuring compliance the project standards, and driving project outcomes to achieve environmental and social impact goals.
Key roles/ tasks:
Develop and implement project plans to time and budgets.
Monitor project progress and ensure milestones are met.
Prepare and maintain project documentation, including reports and updates.
Support to develop Tree Aid new projects by providing project ideas, sharing funding opportunities and creating visibility of the organisation.
Coordinate the development of project outcomes, including validation and verification processes.
Ensure compliance with applicable project standards and methodologies (Verra 0047).
Manage stakeholder engagement, including farmer groups and community representatives and land tenure systems.
Build and maintain relationships with funding partners, government agencies, and local communities.
Facilitate workshops, training sessions, and capacity-building activities.
Track project performance and prepare regular status reports.
Analyse data and provide insights to improve project outcomes.
Disseminate lessons learned to stakeholders and partners.
Ensure adherence to ESG policies and protocols.
Identify and mitigate risks related to environmental and social governance.
Ensure the application of NbS in the delivery of the project
Qualification Required & Experience
Minimum master’s degree in natural resource management / Environmental Science, rural development studies, forestry, Project Management, or agriculture economics, or other related a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in project coordination, preferably in green house gases removal or sustainability projects.
Strong knowledge of greenhouse gases removal standards and methodologies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in project management tools and software.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in tropical forest management or afforestation projects.
Familiarity with data analytics and reporting tools.
Knowledge of local and international carbon markets.
Proven experience as representative of an NGO and managing partner relationships
Proven experience of working autonomously and remotely from support teams in start-up stage of programmes
Good financial management skills
Experience in liaising with government officials and a variety of donors
A strong commitment to the vision, mission, objectives and values of Tree Aid
Excellent verbal, analytical, organizational and written skills.
Strong interpersonal and inter-cultural communication skills.
Commitment to international and humanitarian NGO practices
Computer Literate and Proficient in Microsoft Office including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, teams, PowerPoint, spreadsheet, etc.
Ability to use any data analysis software with experience in RHOMIS, and other data capturing tools, data processing and storage.
A valid driving and riding licences
