Job overview
The République Central African Republic is a country that has gone through more than two decades of various multifaceted crises including political instability with the overthrow of regimes through coups, intercommunal conflicts between Selekas and Antibalakas,...
In addition to this armed conflict we can also point out the multiplicity of armed forces and groups in this country between among others: the UPC, 3R, the former AAKG.
Thanks to the fragility and volatility of the security situation in the country, the government has benefited from MINUSCA military support from Russian mercenaries (Wagner) operating in support of the Central African Armed Forces (FACA) in the areas of Nana-Gbirizi, Bamingui-Bangoran and a battalion of forces a multinational force acting under the mandate of the United Nations. To this is added the special intervention brigade of the Rwandan defence forces in addition to presidential security.
A new constitution was adopted in August 2023. Despite this adoption the country has been plunged into a new crisis. In July 2025 a peace agreement was signed between the government and the two major rebel factions. A situation that has not been more inclusive following the mistrust of some other rebel groups who boycotted the process of cantonment and disarming.
For more than a decade INTERSOS has opened its office in CAR to respond to the humanitarian needs of vulnerable populations in protection (VBG and general protection, face protection), Health, CCCM, Shelters, NFIs and Wash.
