Since its creation in 2009, ALIMA has treated more than 3 million patients, and now operates in 10 countries in Africa. In 2018 we plan to work in 41 projects including 10 research projects focused on malnutrition, Ebola and HIV/AIDS. Lassa. The ALIMA TEAM: more than 1800 people are currently working for ALIMA. The field teams, as close as possible to the patients, receive their support from coordination teams generally based in the capital of the countries of intervention. They receive the support of the 3 teams desk and the team of the emergency department and openings based at the operational headquarters of Dakar, Senegal. The teams of Paris and New York are actively working on fundraising as well as ALIMA representation. The rest of the ALIMA Galaxy includes individuals and partner teams who work on behalf of other organizations such as medical NGOs BEFEN, Health ALERT, SOS Médecins / KEOOGO, AMCP, research organizations PACCI, INSERM, Universities Bordeaux or Copenhagen, the NGO Solidarités International and many others. The Alliance for International Medical Action (ALIMA) is a French international medical organization founded in 2009. Its goal is to provide quality medical care to the most vulnerable, while evolving humanitarian medicine and its practices through research and innovation projects. ALIMA implements programmes to deal with recurrent medical crises related to malaria, acute malnutrition and associated pediatric pathologies, but also emergency response programmes such as epidemics (Ebola, cholera, measles), armed conflicts (North Mali, Sudan) and forced population displacement (Cameroon, Nigeria). ALIMA bases its modus operandi on partnership, mainly with national medical actors. By pooling and capitalizing their skills, ALIMA and its partners allow access to quality care for as many people as possible. In 2012, the operational partnership was formalized with the creation of a Platform of medical NGOs in the Sahel consisting of 6 NGOs: Keoogo and SOS Médecins (Burkina Faso), Alerte Santé (Chad), BEFEN (Niger), AMCP (Mali) and ALIMA. ALIMA actively participates in medical innovation by developing operational research projects with the aim of improving humanitarian medicine responses. In 2015, ALIMA set up the CORAL research platform, jointly with the University of Geneva. Bordeaux and INSERM (France) and the PACCI Research Institute (Ivory Coast). Researchers and epidemiologists mobilized within CORAL are involved in the monitoring and implementation of 10 ongoing research projects in ALIMA’s countries of intervention. The head office of ALIMA is located in Paris (France) and the operational office is at Dakar (Senegal). Since its creation in 2009, ALIMA has treated 5 million patients in 13 countries and launched 29 operational research projects on malnutrition, malaria, Ebola and surgery.
