Lead for Acceleration of Agribusiness & Digital Sectors, Madagascar

The Mission Lead for the World Bank Acceleration for Agribusiness and Digital Sectors program in Madagascar (Francophone) will oversee the strategic, technical, and operational execution of the PIC 3 Acceleration Program. This role ensures program deliverables meet high-quality standards, align with international acceleration benchmarks, and foster seamless collaboration among consortium members, public institutions, and ecosystem stakeholders. The Mission Lead will guide the program from company selection through financing and market access support, with fluency in French required and proficiency in English and/or Malagasy considered advantageous. Based in Antananarivo, this position may include visa sponsorship if necessary.

Profil recherché

Reporting to the HQ Project Director, the Mission Lead will supervise 3-4 direct reports while providing oversight for up to 12 staff and managing subcontractors. Key responsibilities include defining and implementing the acceleration methodology across all program phases—such as company selection, pre-acceleration, individualized acceleration plans, and intensive acceleration—while ensuring transparency and compliance with PIC 3 and World Bank requirements. The role will coordinate consortium interventions, oversee grant management in alignment with donor fiduciary standards, and lead monitoring and evaluation efforts to track impact metrics like revenue growth and job creation, prioritizing gender inclusion and ecosystem strengthening.

Expérience

Candidates must hold at least a Master’s degree (or equivalent BAC+5) in management, finance, entrepreneurship, or a related field, alongside a minimum of ten years’ experience designing and managing acceleration or business support programs, preferably in international or emerging markets. Demonstrated expertise in grant management for SMEs or startups, acceleration methodologies, investment readiness, fundraising support, and cross-stakeholder coordination is essential. Experience in Madagascar is highly preferred.
