The
Malagasy Red Cross
is seeking a motivated Monitoring & Evaluation Assistant to support project implementation in Tamarind. This is a 3-month fixed-term contract, with a deadline for applications set for August 23, 2026.
Under the guidance of the focal point and in close coordination with the Monitoring & Evaluation Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible for operationalizing the monitoring and evaluation (M&E) system, ensuring the integration of community engagement and accountability principles throughout the project. Key responsibilities include:
Supporting the development and enhancement of the M&E framework;
Assisting in the design of capacity-building initiatives for Red Cross staff;
Ensuring regular updates to monitoring tools and submitting monthly progress reports;
Contributing to the implementation of national strategies on community engagement and accountability, including follow-ups on lessons-learned recommendations;
Assisting field technicians in baseline surveys, beneficiary targeting, feasibility studies, and evaluations, as well as conducting exit surveys and post-distribution monitoring (PDM);
Supporting the focal point in organizing monthly coordination meetings and ensuring field activity follow-up;
Managing the program database and feedback logbook;
Guiding project staff in report writing and activity planning;
Representing the organization in meetings, workshops, and relevant forums;
Promoting participatory and inclusive approaches among beneficiaries;
Identifying and reporting risks, conflicts, or safety concerns promptly to the focal point and M&E officer;

Bachelor’s degree (BAC+3) in social sciences, humanities, or a related field;
Expérience
Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in humanitarian or development projects;
Proven expertise in research, report writing, and data management;
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and Power BI;
Demonstrated experience in community engagement, mobilization, and accountability, with a preference for SEA (Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) knowledge;
Excellent analytical, organizational, and planning skills, with a proactive and results-driven approach;
