As a full-time Tour Guide, your daily role involves leading groups through Antsiranana and its surrounding areas, delivering clear, captivating, and secure guided tours. You will design itineraries, verify historical and cultural details, and tailor your presentation to diverse audiences. Handling inquiries, addressing special requests, providing a warm welcome, and promoting The Guide’s offerings on-site are all part of your responsibilities. This position is fully on-site in Antsiranana, requiring regular fieldwork and attendance at tourist destinations.
Required qualifications include proficiency in guided tours and group management, such as prior experience in guided excursions and group coordination, along with strong organizational skills. Exceptional communication abilities are essential, demonstrated through the clear presentation of information, confident articulation, and adaptability to various audiences. A customer service-oriented mindset is critical, with a focus on attentive listening, handling visitor inquiries, and addressing feedback effectively. A solid foundation in local history and culture is also necessary, including a passion for heritage, a commitment to thorough research, and the ability to simplify complex topics. Sales skills are a plus, enabling you to effectively showcase The Guide’s services, suggest additional offerings, and recommend tailored experiences.
