Les candidats doivent être titulaires d’un diplôme en technologie pharmaceutique délivré par un établissement reconnu, et justifier d’une expérience minimale de 2 ans dans un hôpital ou une structure de santé à forte activité. Ils doivent être enregistrés et détenir une licence valide du Pharmacy and Poisons Board. Un engagement envers la fourniture de soins de haute qualité et l’excellence est également attendu.
Responsabilités principales
Le titulaire du poste dispense les médicaments aux patients hospitalisés au moment de leur sortie ainsi qu’aux patients externes selon les besoins. Il veille à informer systématiquement les patients sur les instructions d’utilisation appropriées et les met en garde contre les effets secondaires. Il examine les feuilles de traitement et les ordonnances des patients afin de vérifier la pertinence des médicaments prescrits au regard de l’exactitude des doses, des interactions médicamenteuses et de la voie d’administration.
Il fournit des informations sur les médicaments aux patients, aux cliniciens, aux infirmiers et aux autres membres du personnel médical. Il tient un registre précis de tous les médicaments délivrés dans les fiches de stock, le registre de délivrance et le système informatique.
