Job purpose
As part of its work to combat gender-based violence, WETECH has developed digital platforms and applications for reporting, monitoring and referral of GBV cases. The VBG Specialist-Operator ensures the monitoring and daily operation of these tools, the treatment of reported cases, the referral of survivors to appropriate services, as well as coordination with other actors of protection and response to VBG.
Main duties
Ensure the daily monitoring and active monitoring of platforms, applications and VBG telephone lines from WETECH. Check the availability, correct use and proper functioning of digital reporting tools. Lift any technical malfunction to the technical team. Receive and treat, with respect for confidentiality and ethics, the cases of GBV reported. Conduct an initial survivor needs assessment using a survivor-centred approach. Ensure a reactive and empathetic follow-up of each reported case. Ensure referral of survivors to appropriate services. Systematic identification of reported and managed GBV cases. Ensure regular updating of case files and statistics. Produce periodic reports on cases treated and trends observed. Coordinate activities with other actors involved in the prevention and response to GBV. Participate in sectoral coordination meetings and existing referral mechanisms. Contribute to awareness and information about WETECH tools and services.
Education and qualifications
Bac+3 minimum.
Candidate profile
2 years of experience in the management, referencing or follow-up of VBG cases. Experience with digital reporting or case management platforms (an asset). Experience working with humanitarian actors, UN agencies or protection organizations (an asset). Good knowledge of the guiding principles of GBV management. Mastery of basic digital and office tools. Ability to document and produce monitoring reports. Good command of French; fluency in English and/or a local language is an asset. Great listening ability, empathy and high sense of ethics and confidentiality. Rigor, responsiveness and a sense of organization. Ability to network and coordinate with multiple actors. Resilience and ability to handle sensitive situations. Adherence to the principles of gender equality and WETECH’s mission.
