Description du poste
Vacancy-Job Ref: JKMLUNDP/2501/202481 Bamako (Mali) JOB DESCRIPTION Progress for the development of African women in general and that of Malian women in particular today has a glimmer of hope. This progress is the result of several years of hard work in favor of women’s rights and coexistence on socio-political and economic development. Notwithstanding this progress, the problem linked to taking into account the major concerns of women in projects and programs, as well as to the overall strategic framework of the State, in connection with their political and public participation still persists.
🏢 Présentation du poste
In order to draw the attention of political and public opinions to this situation of representation and development of women, a document called “Mali Women’s Agenda” was developed in 2018 by women’s civil society organizations under the supervision of the Ministry. for the Promotion of Women, Children and the Family. In fact, these organizations, notably Groupe Pivot Droit et Citoyenneté, CAFO, Wildaf, benefiting from the technical and financial support of NDI-Mali, UN Women, ENDA Mali and MINUSMA, have made this Agenda a document, thus sharing the needs priorities of women in areas of development. The approach taken by these organizations in the process of developing the agenda contributed to obtaining a common document that fits with the specific concerns and needs of Malian women. Communication and advocacy campaigns were undertaken with the agenda towards candidates for the 2018 presidential election as well as towards development partners for its popularization. These actions aimed to draw the attention of the various candidates to the priority needs of women in order to encourage them to integrate them into their social and development projects. However, from 2018 to the present day, with multiple socio-political and security crises, women find themselves with new needs and face new challenges. It will be appropriate to analyze the current situation of women at different levels in relation to the context to detect and prevent sources of vulnerability. Indeed, the political and institutional reforms initiated by the transitional authorities constitute an opportunity to revise the priority areas of the Women’s Agenda in order to adapt it to their specific needs and future electoral deadlines. To this end, the aforementioned women’s civil society organizations, carrying the initiative, plan to organize a workshop to allow women to better express their opinion on the content of the document. “The Mali Women’s Agenda” will be the reference document for women’s advocacy actions with the transitional authorities and candidates for the presidential and legislative elections for their commitment to taking into account the specific needs of women from Mali.
