Founded in 2006, One Acre Fund equips 5.5 million smallholder farmers to make their farms more productive. Across nine countries that together are home to two-thirds of Africa's farmers, we provide high-quality farm supplies, tree seedlings, accessible credit, modern agronomic training, and a wide range of other agricultural services. On average, this model enables any farmer to increase their income and assets on supported land by more than 35 percent, while permanently improving their resilience. Our Rwanda program, founded in 2007 is our largest and operates under the local brand Tubura. We have more than 3,000 staff across all four provinces of Rwanda, as well as in Kigali. Together, we served more than 2.8 million farmers in 2024. We work closely with the government to support national efforts to improve food security. Additionally, we help channel funding and resources to promising agri-SMEs, supporting farmers by providing a market for high-impact crops such as coffee, avocado, and chili. About the Role

Expérience

Seeking an exceptional poultry production and veterinary professional with 3 years of experience to drive flock performance, minimise mortality, and maximise feed efficiency across One Acre Fund growing broiler outgrower network. Responsibilities Production Management Lead broiler production from placement to harvest; track FCR, mortality, and live weight targets while managing feed quality, stocking density, and harvest schedules. Flock Health & Veterinary Oversight Serve as primary clinical authority for diagnostics, treatments, post-mortems, and vaccinations, while maintaining disease calendars, health logs, and regulatory compliance. Harvest Compliance & Food Safety Enforce drug withdrawal periods to certify residue-free flocks and manage harvest-day veterinary documentation and processing facility inspections. Biosecurity & Housing Management Enforce biosecurity protocols using scoring tools, set environmental parameters (ventilation, temp), and issue seasonal guidance for environmental risk management. Data, SOPs & Coordination Oversee field team record-keeping, deliver performance reports analyzing key variances, and continuously update program SOPs based on cycle learnings. Across all roles, these are the general qualifications we look for . For this role specifically, you will have: At least 3 years of experience in poultry production, broiler performance, and flock health strategy. Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Medicine, veterinary technolody, Animal Science, or a related field. Valid RCVD (Rwanda Council of Veterinary Doctors) license. Demonstrated ability to translate veterinary protocols for non-technical field staff and farmers. Proven track record managing production across a geographically dispersed outgrower network.
