You as the Child Protection Specialist (violence and exploitation) reports to the Chief Field Office, Man and technically to the Child Protection Specialist (Head of Section) for supervision. You will support the development and planning of the Child Protection programme(s) and are responsible for the management, implementation, monitoring, reporting, and evaluation of the child protection programmes/projects within the country programme. You will provide technical guidance and management support throughout the programming processes. You will facilitate the administration and achievement of concrete and sustainable contributions to national and international efforts to create a protective environment for children against all harm, and to protect their rights as established under the Convention on the Rights of the Child, international treaties/frameworks and UN intergovernmental bodies. Formation / Diplômes

: An advanced university degree (Master) in one of the following fields is required: international development, human rights, psychology, sociology, international law, or another relevant social science field.

Expérience

: A minimum of five years of professional experience in social sector such as development, planning and / or management in child protection related areas is required.

Experience in Capacity building, Programme Monitoring, Programme Evaluation, Advocacy, Data Analysis is required Language Requirements : Fluency in French is required. Desirables: Language: Knowledge of another official language of the UN, including English, or of the local language of the duty station is an asset. Relevant experience in child protection related areas in a UN system agency or organization is considered as an asset. Experience in fostering partnerships with government institutions and NGOs, field-based experience in Côte d'Ivoire, and a strong understanding of child labour issues within the cocoa sector are highly desirable. Experience working with case management systems will be considered a significant asset. Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts is considered as an asset.
