The incumbent operates as part of the Upstream Production Site team, reporting directly to the Field Engineering Leader. The work environment is characterized by cyclical and seasonal fluctuations, compounded by geographical remoteness from advanced technical support and equipment suppliers. The role follows a structured rotation schedule, alternating between four weeks of active duty and four weeks of time off. The position demands a versatile and agile work schedule, with availability required around the clock. Working closely with the Process and Flow Assurance team—led by the Lead Process Engineer—and Technical HQ specialists, the role entails overseeing the chemical-analytical quality control of marketable products, in addition to monitoring the physical and chemical properties of reservoir fluids derived from active wells and process units within the client’s field. Conduct comprehensive physical and chemical evaluations of export oil and all related fluids, including gas, produced water, lake water, and effluents, adhering strictly to prevailing standards, specifications, and approved laboratory protocols. Oversee the maintenance, enhancement, and optimization of laboratory analysis programs, ensuring appropriate sampling frequencies, adherence to standardized measurement techniques, and the integrity of the database for monitored parameters. Implement a stringent quality control process to verify that analytical outcomes consistently adhere to mandated accuracy, impartiality, and regulatory quality benchmarks. Analyze and address substandard analytical outcomes through structured diagnostic approaches to identify and correct underlying issues efficiently. Develop, implement, and assess annual and continuous laboratory work plans to ensure safe, dependable, and efficient operational performance. Responsibilities include ensuring the proper operation, maintenance, storage, and timely verification and certification of all laboratory equipment and instruments, as well as developing and updating supporting procedures as required. Maintain the meticulousness of laboratory logbooks and documentation protocols among technicians to ensure precision and compliance. To address and rectify essential laboratory challenges encountered during operations, ensuring the seamless and dependable delivery of laboratory services. Oversee the procurement and distribution of laboratory supplies, including materials, chemicals, tools, and equipment, to ensure seamless operational continuity. Initiate and oversee the procurement process for equipment and consumables, including conducting stock takes, preparing purchase requisitions and purchase orders, and tracking deliveries, in collaboration with the Contracts & Procurement team. Oversee the creation and updates of Operating Procedures, guaranteeing they comply with safe work practices, environmental regulations, and mechanical integrity standards. Provide laboratory and production chemistry technical support to site teams as well as the Collaborative Work Environment (Tier 2). Support the development of process-related Requests for Modification (RFM) and assist Engineering and One Tech teams by addressing technical inquiries and compiling Scope of Work documentation for external studies. Evaluate technical documentation related to laboratory and production chemistry submissions from contractors and external parties. Recommend enhancements to laboratory technological infrastructure and assess the suitability of contemporary measurement methodologies.
