Carnegie Mellon University Africa (CMU-Africa), located in Kigali, Rwanda, represents CMU's global presence on the continent. Since its establishment in 2011, CMU-Africa has been at the forefront of advancing engineering, technology, research, and innovation across Africa through top-tier graduate education, applied research, and strategic collaborations. Through the Center for Inclusive Digital Transformation of Africa (The Center) and the African Engineering and Technology Network (AFROTC), CMU-Africa partners with leading universities, governments, industries, and key stakeholders to enhance engineering education, foster research and innovation, and cultivate entrepreneurship across the continent.
In close partnership with the Associate Director of Teaching & Learning, the Program Manager will serve as the operational nexus for a suite of online certificate offerings designed to address critical digital skills gaps and talent development needs across Africa. This role encompasses the entire learner journey—from identifying skills gaps and developing courses to recruitment, admissions, enrollment, learner support, credential conferral, and stakeholder engagement.
The ideal candidate will help manage a dynamic portfolio of short online courses, modules, and workshops aimed at equipping learners with high-demand technology skills and facilitating career advancement in the digital economy. To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate strong program coordination abilities, meticulous attention to detail, a dedication to learner success, and the capacity to collaborate effectively with faculty, learners, industry partners, government stakeholders, AFROTC institutions, and internal support teams.
