We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team as Senior Fleet Operations Director.
In this role, you will oversee a diverse fleet of vehicles, ensuring operational efficiency, compliance with regulations, and cost-effective management. Your responsibilities will include scheduling maintenance, tracking vehicle performance, and managing fuel consumption. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of the fleet operation, encompassing both trucks and forklifts, ensuring vehicle safety, maintaining driver compliance, and enforcing company policies to streamline logistical and transportation processes. You will coordinate fleet activities to optimize efficiency and ensure seamless operations.
You will oversee the day-to-day operations of the trucking fleet to maintain optimal efficiency and strict adherence to safety protocols. You will delegate daily fleet management tasks to the Assistant Department Manager while offering clear guidance and support to ensure efficient operations. You will perform routine evaluations of driver and fleet personnel performance to ensure operational standards are consistently met, and ensure adherence to all applicable transportation regulations, safety protocols, and established company policies throughout all operational activities.
The position involves managing the logistics of truck transportation and strategically planning routes to ensure efficient delivery operations. Responsibilities include coordinating with drivers, dispatchers, and warehouse teams to optimize schedules, monitor shipment progress, and address any logistical challenges that may arise. Additionally, the role requires analyzing data to identify cost-saving opportunities, ensuring compliance with transportation regulations, and maintaining clear communication with clients regarding delivery timelines and any potential delays. Proficiency in route planning software and a strong understanding of logistics principles are essential for success in this role.
You will design and allocate truck dispatch schedules to ensure punctual deliveries, collaborate effectively with the Assistant Department Manager to meticulously track trip logs, monitor fuel consumption, and review driver reports, and ensure that loading and unloading procedures are conducted efficiently at specified sites.
The department oversees the planning, execution, and supervision of maintenance operations to ensure all systems, equipment, and facilities remain in optimal working condition. This includes coordinating routine inspections, addressing repair requests promptly, and implementing preventive maintenance measures to minimize downtime. The role requires strong organizational skills to manage work orders, prioritize tasks, and allocate resources efficiently. Additionally, the position involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with safety regulations and operational standards while maintaining accurate documentation of all maintenance activities. Routine maintenance schedules for trucks must be planned and executed on a regular basis. You will collaborate effectively with Mechanics to maintain and restore equipment in a timely manner, and maintain all vehicles in a state of constant roadworthiness and regulatory compliance.
Drivers are supervised and trained to ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations. This role involves overseeing driver performance, conducting evaluations, and providing ongoing education to enhance safety and efficiency. Training programs may include defensive driving techniques, vehicle maintenance protocols, and customer service standards to maintain high operational standards. You will supervise drivers to uphold discipline and ensure operational efficiency, fostering a productive and compliant work environment. Responsibilities include monitoring attendance records, managing shift schedules, and ensuring adherence to driver conduct standards. You will organize and facilitate driver training programs focused on safety protocols, defensive driving techniques, and operational procedures, and develop and execute corrective action plans to address driver violations, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and company policies.
You will ensure adherence to regulatory standards, maintain accurate records, and facilitate transparent communication across all organizational levels. You will prepare and submit required reports to governing bodies, internal stakeholders, and external auditors in a timely manner. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to address compliance inquiries, mitigate risks, and uphold corporate governance policies. You will serve as a liaison between the organization and regulatory authorities to clarify expectations and resolve discrepancies efficiently, ensuring strict adherence to all legal requirements and company policies governing fleet operations.
Compiling comprehensive fleet reports is required, encompassing detailed documentation of fuel consumption, incident records, maintenance activities, and other pertinent operational data.
