Through the Center for Inclusive Digital Transformation of Africa (The Center) and the African Engineering and Technology Network (AFROTC), CMU-Africa collaborates with top universities, governments, industry leaders, and strategic partners to enhance engineering education, research, innovation, and entrepreneurship throughout Africa. We are seeking a detail-oriented, collaborative, and outcomes-focused Program Manager to oversee the operational execution of The Center’s Teaching & Learning portfolio. This position will involve coordinating a varied set of initiatives, ensuring timely and effective delivery in alignment with program goals. The ideal candidate will thrive in a structured yet dynamic environment, managing multiple projects across institutions and stakeholders while maintaining strong operational oversight. This role involves close collaboration with faculty, academic leaders, program teams, partner institutions, and operational colleagues to ensure that Teaching & Learning activities are seamlessly coordinated, rigorously monitored, and strategically positioned for sustainable impact. The successful candidate will combine advanced program management skills with exceptional organizational and interpersonal abilities, a dedication to educational excellence, and a deep commitment to broadening access to high-quality engineering and technology education across Africa. Responsibilities Work alongside the Associate Director of Teaching & Learning to develop and implement strategic plans, including annual work plans, budgets, timelines, and operational strategies for the Teaching & Learning portfolio. Collaborate with program leads to oversee the day-to-day execution of initiatives, guaranteeing alignment with program objectives, funding partner expectations, and established schedules, budgets, and quality standards. Facilitate faculty development, teaching innovation, and professional learning programs, such as faculty fellowships, communities of practice, training initiatives, and activities tied to the Teaching Innovation Center. Assist in implementing bridge programs, graduate readiness initiatives, online learning solutions, and other efforts designed to strengthen pathways into advanced engineering and technology education.
