Employee Contract Type: Local – Fixed Term Employee (Fixed Term) Job Description: Data Collection & Management Assist with the mapping of households and the recruitment of women aged 18 to 45 years in the study villages. Perform initial and subsequent surveys to assess maternal health-seeking behavior, expenditure patterns, and birth preparedness. Gather and confirm information from Antenatal care cards, maternity registers, and reports provided by community health workers (CHWs). Ensure that data is entered, cleaned, and stored with precision and adherence to established project protocols to maintain high-quality standards. Implementation Monitoring Conduct fidelity assessment checklists with SG leaders and CHW supervisors through either telephone or in-person interactions. Identify and record both barriers and facilitators, along with relevant contextual factors, that influence the adoption and long-term sustainability of interventions. Perform in-depth qualitative interviews with essential informants and facilitate focused group discussions with influential community stakeholders. Community Engagement Facilitate collaboration between community Agents and Community Health Workers to ensure effective implementation of behavioral encouragement interventions for Savings Groups (SGs). Engage in collaborative communication with village leaders, Community Health Workers, and Steering Group members to facilitate the seamless execution of interventions. Engage in community outreach initiatives aimed at fostering understanding of the research project’s goals and objectives. Project coordination Monitor project schedules, milestones, and execution plans to ensure alignment with established timelines and objectives. Position Overview: This role involves overseeing and maintaining accurate budget tracking for the Area Development Program’s projects, ensuring financial transparency and alignment with organizational goals. The position requires meticulous attention to detail in monitoring expenditures, reconciling discrepancies, and preparing regular financial reports to stakeholders. Strong analytical skills and proficiency in budget management tools are essential to support informed decision-making. Regular updates regarding field activities, challenges encountered, and overall progress must be consistently communicated. Organize and oversee all logistical details pertaining to trainings, workshops, and stakeholder meetings. Compose concise summaries and reports detailing field findings for internal assessment and review. Required Qualifications, Skills, Professional Experience, and Certifications: Applicants must possess the necessary knowledge, qualifications, and professional experience relevant to the role. Additionally, any required training, licenses, registrations, or certifications pertinent to the position must be obtained and maintained. Compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements is mandatory. A relevant academic background, such as a diploma or bachelor’s degree in Demography, Development Studies, Public Health, or a related discipline, is required for this role. Community-based research experience is desirable. Skilled in fostering collaborative relationships and effectively engaging with a wide range of community stakeholders from diverse backgrounds. An added benefit would be fluency in the Tongan language. Highly developed organizational abilities and strong communication proficiency are required. Proficient in analyzing and integrating both qualitative and quantitative data to derive meaningful insights and actionable conclusions. Demonstrates a keen awareness of and respect for the cultural norms and practices prevalent in rural communities. Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills to work efficiently with Community Health Workers, Site Group leaders, and fellow research team members. Requires a strong command of the Microsoft Office Suite, encompassing Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Capable of adapting readily to shifting project requirements and dynamic circumstances.
