Job Purpose The Boiler Operator The position involves overseeing the secure, effective, and consistent functioning, supervision, and upkeep of boiler systems and related machinery to guarantee a steady provision of steam, hot water, or heat essential for manufacturing and operational processes. This role also ensures adherence to safety, environmental, and legal standards while sustaining peak boiler efficiency, reducing operational interruptions, and enhancing overall plant efficiency. Key Responsibilities Monitor and oversee the boiler system to ensure a consistent and uninterrupted steam supply. Regularly inspect pressure levels, temperature readings, water levels, and the fuel system to ensure optimal performance and safety. Maintain accurate documentation of boiler operations by updating log sheets and records according to established procedures. Properly manage water treatment processes and chemical dosing to maintain optimal water quality standards. Conduct systematic assessments of the boiler and its auxiliary components. Coordinate with the maintenance department to address equipment breakdowns and perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks in a timely manner. Ensure adherence to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and stringent safety protocols at all times. Monitor steam distribution systems to ensure optimal performance and prevent potential leakages. Perform boiler start-up and shutdown procedures in accordance with established operational protocols. Ensure the boiler area is consistently maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and orderliness. Immediately report any detected abnormalities to the supervisor for prompt review and action. Monitor energy efficiency and track fuel usage to ensure optimal resource utilization. Qualifications and Key Requirements Professional Rewriting: A valid Boiler Operator competency certificate or license, issued in accordance with applicable local regulatory standards, is required. A minimum of three to five years of hands-on experience in industrial boiler operation is required. Familiarity with steam system operations, water treatment processes, and adherence to safety protocols is required.
