Responsabilités
Farm Casual Workers are responsible for performing a variety of agricultural tasks, including planting, cultivating, and harvesting crops, as well as operating and maintaining farm equipment and machinery. They must adhere to strict safety protocols to ensure a secure working environment and follow all relevant environmental and regulatory guidelines. Additionally, Workers are required to possess physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects, work in diverse weather conditions, and operate farm vehicles such as tractors and harvesters. This role demands reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic to meet production deadlines and maintain farm operations efficiently. Arise Uganda is seeking a highly motivated professional to join their team in Kampala, focusing on the development and implementation of innovative agricultural solutions tailored to Uganda’s farming challenges. The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, or a related field, along with at least three years of hands-on experience in agricultural extension, crop protection, or agribusiness. We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented professional to oversee and execute a comprehensive range of duties critical to the success of our operations. Key responsibilities include managing project timelines and deliverables, ensuring adherence to company standards and regulatory requirements, and coordinating cross-functional teams to achieve organizational objectives. Responsible for the cultivation and administration of livestock feeds and fodder, ensuring optimal nutrition and availability for herd maintenance. Perform general farm maintenance tasks and execute field operations as required. Assisting with various assigned agricultural production tasks to ensure efficient farm operations and meet established goals. Qualifications and Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, along with a minimum of three years of professional experience in software development. Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++ is essential, alongside familiarity with frameworks like Spring or Django. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment are also required. Additionally, candidates must demonstrate excellent communication abilities to effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Formation / DiplĂ´mes
- Possession of the Uganda Certificate of Education (O-Level) is required.
- You must possess a current, government-issued National ID for verification purposes. With a demonstrated track record in the establishment and ongoing management of banana plantations, as well as hands-on expertise in dairy cow husbandry and the cultivation of feed and fodder crops, you will bring valuable practical experience to this role. The candidate must demonstrate proficiency in both spoken and written English and Swahili, with a strong preference for fluency in Acholic as well. Open to relocating to and performing job duties within a rural farm environment. Demonstrated physical fitness, unwavering reliability, and a strong work ethic are essential traits for this role.
