Field Equipment Pumping Specialists

PURPOSE Fraser Alexander Zambia offers a dynamic role focused on the efficient operation, thorough inspection, and meticulous maintenance of water pumps, involving the systematic activation and deactivation of pumps in accordance with established operational protocols. RESPONSIBILITIES Operations Strict compliance with the designated schedule and shift timings specific to each site is required. Attend safety talks. Perform daily evaluations of risk factors and facilitate seamless shift transitions. Operate valves in strict accordance with established standard operating procedures to ensure proper opening and closing sequences. Monitor and report any instances of pump downtime, spills, or leaks. Compose reports on an hourly or daily basis and collect samples to measure pH and turbidity levels. Monitor incoming and outgoing line pressure to ensure optimal system functionality and safety. Interact with on-site operational teams to coordinate density management, regulate flow rates, and manage the activation and deactivation of pumping systems. Provide support and execute any directives or assignments from senior management as deemed necessary. Health and Safety Adhere strictly to established Safe Work Procedures during the execution of designated tasks and in response to emergencies, as outlined in training protocols. Ensure appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is worn for each assigned task. Adhere to all safety protocols and site-specific emergency procedures in accordance with established training and site standards. Ensure continuous readiness for emergency situations at all times. Identify and promptly report any unsafe acts or hazardous conditions observed in the workplace. Engage in all aspects of training initiatives, including preparation, delivery, and evaluation phases. Housekeeping Maintain meticulous housekeeping standards in the vicinity of all pumps and valves. Regular maintenance of tools through consistent cleaning and appropriate storage of equipment is required. Basic Inspections Identify and document any anomalies or malfunctions occurring at pump stations and ensure prompt reporting of these issues. Perform thorough visual inspections of pumps and valves in accordance with a standardized checklist. Conduct thorough inspections of pressure gauges, pumps, and pulley guards to ensure operational integrity and compliance with safety standards. Timekeeping Comprehensive and precise recording of personal work hours is required. QUALIFICATIONS Educational Qualification: Completion of a Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate.

EXPERIENCE

With a minimum of one (1) year of hands-on experience in comparable operational environments, such as tailings or metallurgical facilities, candidates will demonstrate proficiency in key processes and workflows. On-the-job training on pumps.
