We are seeking dedicated Village Based Agents (VBA) to serve as vital links between our organization and local communities. These roles involve providing essential services, facilitating community engagement, and ensuring the effective delivery of programs at the grassroots level. Candidates must possess strong interpersonal skills, cultural awareness, and fluency in local languages to connect with residents. Responsibilities include conducting outreach, collecting feedback, and supporting community initiatives. The ideal applicant will demonstrate adaptability, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to fostering sustainable development in rural areas. Kilimo Trust As a vital sector encompassing the cultivation of crops, rearing of livestock, processing of food products, and sustainable management of natural resources, this field plays a critical role in ensuring food security, economic stability, and environmental stewardship. Key responsibilities include implementing precision farming methods, overseeing food safety protocols, managing resource conservation initiatives, and leveraging technology to enhance productivity and sustainability. Requirements typically encompass a strong foundation in agricultural sciences, proficiency in data-driven decision-making, and a commitment to promoting environmentally responsible practices. Agribusiness, Agricultural Services & Products, Farming & Outdoors, and Social Services & Nonprofit encompass diverse sectors dedicated to food production, sustainable land management, community support, and environmental stewardship. About Kilimo Trust Ki limo Trust (KT), a not-for-profit organization, operates across the East African Community—comprising Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Uganda—with a focus on agriculture-led development. As a trusted implementing partner, KT specializes in fostering inclusive and sustainable agricultural value chain development through market-driven approaches in the region. Ki limo Trust, in collaboration with AGRA, is executing the RE-GAIN Eastern Farmers (REEF) initiative, designed to enhance food security and foster sustainable agricultural practices in Eastern Uganda. The project focuses on boosting the adoption of food loss reduction strategies and climate-smart solutions among smallholder farmers by facilitating awareness campaigns, financing opportunities, market connections, and business development support. In this context, we are seeking qualified Village Based Agents (VBA) to deliver training to farmers, agricultural traders, and processors on effective Post Harvest Handling (PHH) techniques and the ways in which climate change exacerbates post-harvest losses. 2. The Assignment: This initiative seeks to strengthen food loss reduction efforts within the bean and maize value chains across Eastern Uganda, with a focus on the Sega and Bugs regions. By empowering farmers, agricultural traders, and processors with essential skills and expertise, the program will enhance post-harvest management practices. The goal is to improve both the quantity and quality of produce, minimize losses, and ultimately drive higher trade volumes. The allocation of positions varies across different districts, ensuring equitable representation and addressing localized staffing needs. Each district receives a designated number of vacancies based on factors such as population size, service demand, and operational requirements. This strategic distribution aims to optimize workforce deployment and enhance service delivery efficiency in all regions. Candidates must meet the specified eligibility criteria and are encouraged

- •Never pay any amount of money — for a file, a training, a uniform, or an interview. A real employer never asks the candidate to pay.
- •Never send a photo of your ID card, passport, or banking details before you have physically verified the employer exists.
- •Always meet in a public place, during the day — never an isolated address, a private home, or a location you cannot verify in advance.
- •Tell a relative or friend exactly where you are going, with whom, and at what time — and share your live location if possible.
- •Search the company name online before going: a real business has a trace (website, reviews, other employees, an official address).
- •A salary that is far above the market rate for the position and the city is a red flag — be extra cautious.
