This role as Assistant Reporting Accountant entails ensuring the precision and timely delivery of management accounts, alongside supporting the preparation of statutory accounts—encompassing profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports—to accurately depict the business’s performance and financial standing. You will conduct reconciliations to integrate Policy Administration Systems with Dynamics 365 (EO 2, AIMS vs. D 365), verify data alignment across these systems, and promptly notify ICT of any discrepancies for resolution. Additionally, you will assist in generating accurate and timely financial statements, perform balance sheet substantiation, and monitor the Finance department’s adherence to these processes. Supporting external audits through key analyses and delivering statutory accounts with strict adherence to timelines and quality standards will also be part of your responsibilities. Cultivating strong partnerships with Finance Business Partners through regular engagement will further enhance data integrity, while providing accounting expertise and analytical support for ad hoc projects will be required as needed. This position demands rigorous compliance with Old Mutual Insurance Rwanda’s policies, procedures, and processes related to Compliance, Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and Sanctions—ensuring their implementation, adoption, and adherence. Responsibilities include conducting ongoing and enhanced due diligence, maintaining high data quality standards, identifying and monitoring potential AML, Sanctions, or Compliance breaches and unusual activities, and escalating any concerns to the Risk and Compliance Office for further action.
