Field Security Associate, Niamey Organization: International Development Law Organization (IDLO) Country: Niger City: Niamey Office: IDLO in Niamey Overview & Responsibilities Under the direct supervision of the Field Security Officer
(FSO), and technical guidance of the Global Security Adviser based
at IDLO Headquarters, the Field Security Associate monitors

security issues in the field location keeping management abreast of
security risks. The incumbent further facilitates compliance with
respect to all security policies, procedures, and practices, and
advises on all necessary IDLO security directives and
instructions. Responsibilities With technical support from the FSO, support the provision of
security advice to the Security Management Team (SMT) in-country
and, on behalf of the SMT, to IDLO employees and consultants on
risks associated with the work and the local environment, and on
mitigation measures to support day-to-day programme implementation
and foster a culture of security. Support the FSO in inspecting the physical security of IDLO

facilities and ad hoc locations, gathering information on threats,
and recommending appropriate risk mitigation measures and
approaches consistent with established procedures and
policies. Assist with the implementation of the IDLO Security Policy,
ensuring that the Country Security Plan (CSP) is in place and
adhered to. Review travel and movement requests under the guidance of the
FSO, verify that required security protocols are followed, and
support communication to staff on identified risks and required
mitigation measures. Support the FSO in reviewing security procedures and
guidelines, checking their alignment with the in-country Security
Risk Assessment, and proposing updates to help maintain their
effectiveness. Upon request by the FSO, brief IDLO employees and consultants
on IDLO security and safety policies and procedures, including
updates on emerging threats and the general security posture at the
country office. Report emergency situations promptly to the FSO, the SMT
in-country, and the Global Security Adviser, and, as appropriate,
provide immediate practical guidance to affected staff in line with
established procedures. Support in planning and implementing regular reviews of safety
and security measures identifying deficiencies and providing
recommendations to SMT in-country. Assist with gathering information to advise the SMT in-country
on daily security matters to ensure that a support infrastructure
is in place to respond to emergencies and anticipate emerging
security issues. Job Requirements Education and work experience High school diploma/other relevant professional training in

security matters is required. Minimum 3 years of security experience in UN/NGO/IGO Security
Management. Language Excellent written and oral French and English. Specific knowledge, skills and competencies Good understanding of security risk management principles,
including threat analysis, vulnerability assessment, mitigation
planning, and the application of security policies and procedures
in field settings. Ability to monitor, analyse, and report on security
developments in Niger. Practical knowledge of safety and security procedures for field
missions, staff movement, premises security, emergency
preparedness, incident reporting, and crisis response. Ability to draft clear and concise security advisories,
incident reports, and other security-related correspondence in
French and English. Coordination and liaison skills, and ability to engage with
local authorities, and community
