Job Description: The NCD and RMN ACH Research Manager (Grade 4A) will be based in Rwinkwavu, Rwanda, with regular travel to Irene district, reporting to the Director of the NCD Program. This role supervises data collectors and junior researchers while leading research initiatives across non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and reproductive, maternal, neonatal, adolescent, and child health (RMN ACH). Partners In Health (PIN), a global non-profit headquartered in Boston, MA, partners with the Rwandan Government through Input Mu Burma (IMB) to strengthen health systems in underserved regions. PIN’s work spans NCDs, oncology, surgery, and RMN ACH, with Rwinkwavu serving as a key hub for NCD and surgical services and Kirehe as a focal point for maternal and child health. The Research Manager will oversee rigorous research activities, ensuring scientific excellence, operational efficiency, and alignment with clinical and programmatic goals. Responsibilities include mentoring researchers, managing budgets, upholding ethical standards, and translating findings into policy and practice. Key Responsibilities: – Research Leadership & Project Management: Develop and execute research projects in NCD and RMN ACH, establishing protocols, timelines, and data collection tools in collaboration with teams. Monitor budgets, ensure ethical compliance, and safeguard data integrity. – Methodological Oversight: Design and implement quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods studies, ensuring robust data collection, analysis, and interpretation. – Writing & Dissemination: Author manuscripts, reports, policy briefs, and grant proposals, presenting findings to stakeholders, including the Ministry of Health, at national and international forums. – Mentorship & Capacity Building: Train and support junior researchers and clinicians, fostering a culture of evidence-based practice and research excellence. – Quality Improvement: Oversee QI initiatives, ensuring data-driven solutions and integration into programmatic strategies. Qualifications: – Advanced degree in public health, nursing, medicine, global health, social sciences, or a related field. – Minimum five years of research experience, preferably in global health, with expertise in quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods approaches. – Proven leadership in research project management, from design to dissemination, and strong scientific writing abilities. – Experience supervising teams, mentoring staff, and collaborating with clinicians and program leaders
