The Assistant Reporting Accountant will prepare precise and timely management accounts while assisting in the compilation of statutory financial statements—including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow—to ensure an accurate depiction of the business’s financial performance and position. This role involves reconciling Policy Administration Systems with Dynamics 365 (EO 2, AIMS vs. D 365), validating data alignment within these systems, and flagging any discrepancies to the ICT team for resolution. Additionally, the position supports the accurate and timely presentation of financial statements, performs balance sheet substantiation (BSS), and monitors the Finance department’s adherence to BSS protocols. The incumbent will collaborate with external auditors by providing key analytical support for financial statement verifications and contribute to the timely delivery of statutory accounts to the required standards. Strong partnerships with Finance Business Partners will be cultivated through regular engagements to enhance data integrity. The role also entails providing accounting guidance and analytical support for ad hoc projects as needed. The successful candidate will uphold and enforce Old Mutual Insurance Rwanda’s compliance frameworks, including Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Sanctions, and broader regulatory policies, by implementing robust procedures and processes. This includes conducting ongoing due diligence, maintaining high data quality, and identifying potential breaches or suspicious activities, which must be escalated to the Risk and Compliance Office for further review. All other duties assigned by the line manager or senior leadership team may also be required.
