The Associate Field Manager (AFM) serves as a pivotal leader in delivering Give Directly’s gold-standard cash transfer programs to donors and recipients. In this role, you will oversee the operational excellence of Field Officers (FOS), ensuring daily workflows are optimized, performance targets are met, and continuous improvement is embedded in every process. Key responsibilities include: managing team performance through data-driven tracking, coaching FOS to address challenges, and identifying risks—ranging from logistical hurdles to recipient refusals—while proposing mitigation strategies. As the primary liaison between the Field Manager (FM) and the field teams, you will synthesize progress updates, escalate concerns, and collaborate on analytical reports to inform strategic decisions. Periodically, you may assume additional AFM responsibilities to support operational continuity. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional leadership in personnel management, operational problem-solving, and analytical rigor, with a strong aptitude for both independent work and cross-functional communication. Success in this role hinges on your ability to balance hands-on field engagement with strategic oversight, including delegating tasks to enhance the FM’s leverage over time. Proficiency in data analysis—particularly within Give Directly’s beneficiary management and survey systems—will be essential for tracking performance, refining processes, and supporting the global data team.
