The successful applicant will possess a minimum of 10 years of hands-on earthworks experience, with a strong track record in supervising large-scale earthmoving projects. Key Responsibilities: Revised: Oversee onsite earthworks operations on a daily basis, ensuring all activities align with project specifications, safety protocols, and timelines. Coordinate and direct teams, equipment, and resources to execute excavation, grading, and other groundwork tasks efficiently and in compliance with regulatory standards. Monitor progress, assess performance, and address any operational challenges to maintain productivity and quality standards. Site clearing and grubbing. Professional Rewrite: Extensive experience in large-scale earthmoving and precise cut-to-fill grading projects. Embankment construction. Trenching and backfilling. Road formation and preparation of the subgrade are critical components of the construction process. Borrow-pit and material-winning operations. Stockpiling and material handling. Rock excavation where applicable. Professional civil engineering services in drainage infrastructure and related works are required, encompassing comprehensive design, implementation, and maintenance of drainage systems and associated civil construction projects. Compaction and final trimming. Review and analyze construction drawings, specifications, method statements, and operational instructions to ensure accurate execution of project requirements. Devise and implement daily work schedules while strategically distributing labor, equipment, and other essential resources to ensure optimal productivity and efficiency. Earthworks must be executed in strict adherence to specified alignments, elevations, gradients, inclinations, and permissible deviations. Oversee and synchronize excavation, hauling, spreading, watering, grading, and compaction operations. Ensure daily and weekly production targets are consistently met by closely monitoring rates. Assess and address site-specific limitations that could potentially hinder operational efficiency or project timelines. Plant and Equipment Management Oversee the strategic deployment of excavators, bulldozers, graders, loaders, rollers, water bowlers, dump trucks, and additional earthmoving machinery to ensure optimal utilization and operational efficiency. Track equipment usage rates, operational efficiency, and operational readiness to ensure optimal performance and availability. Conduct daily inspections of plant machinery and equipment in collaboration with operators to ensure operational readiness and compliance with safety standards. Identify and promptly report any malfunctions or defects in equipment to the maintenance team to facilitate timely repairs and reduce operational downtime. Safeguard the proper and effective operation of machinery by trained personnel. Evaluate fuel usage patterns to identify opportunities for reducing operational costs by eliminating unnecessary plant idling and preventing fuel wastage. Minimum Requirements: Obtained qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction, Earthworks, or a comparable discipline, such as a Diploma or Certificate. Accumulated more than a decade of hands-on expertise in earthworks, civil construction, mining, infrastructure, or analogous undertakings. Accomplished professionals should demonstrate a track record in leading extensive earthmoving projects and managing construction teams effectively. Possesses comprehensive expertise in all aspects of earthworks operations, such as excavation, cut-and-fill procedures, embankment construction, trenching, road formation, drainage systems, compaction techniques, and efficient material handling. Proficient in analyzing and comprehending construction drawings, technical specifications, method statements, and operational instructions. Skilled in managing and overseeing the operation of heavy earthmoving machinery such as excavators, bulldozers, graders, loaders, rollers, water bowlers, and dump trucks. Capable of organizing daily operations, assigning human resources, equipment, and materials efficiently, and tracking performance metrics to ensure optimal productivity levels. A solid grasp of site safety protocols, quality assurance standards, and environmental compliance regulations is essential. Proficient in tracking production targets and diagnosing operational issues, with a focus on resolving site constraints to maintain efficiency and productivity.
