Background ACO DEP is currently seeking applicants for an upcoming cross-sectoral initiative dedicated to advancing women’s involvement in environmental peace building, climate action, the prevention of gender-based and sexual gender-based violence, the safeguarding of human rights, and the promotion of environmental justice. Two one-year contract positions with the possibility of renewal are available. JOB SUMMARY The Medical/Public Health Officer will facilitate community health initiatives, promote wellness, prevent disease, coordinate referrals, and enhance public health awareness efforts. Oversee and execute a diverse range of critical tasks, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and industry standards. Implement and maintain efficient processes to enhance productivity, accuracy, and overall performance. Collaborate cross-functionally with teams to foster innovation, resolve challenges, and drive continuous improvement. Manage projects from inception to completion, monitoring progress and mitigating risks to achieve timely and high-quality deliverables. Serve as a liaison between departments, facilitating seamless communication and coordination to support strategic initiatives. Provide assistance in conducting community health assessments and executing outreach initiatives. Organize and deliver educational workshops focused on health promotion and disease prevention, fostering community understanding and proactive health behaviors. Promote initiatives focused on preventing diseases, improving hygiene and sanitation practices, and fostering healthy lifestyle choices. Provide assistance to health initiatives operating within the community setting.

Assess potential health risks and coordinate referrals to appropriate healthcare providers or specialists as necessary. Collaborate with healthcare facilities, municipal authorities, and community-based health organizations to enhance service delivery and support public health initiatives. Support health screening initiatives and community outreach programs as required. Responsibilities include ensuring precise documentation and reporting of health-related activities. Assist in the development, coordination, and execution of emergency preparedness and health response initiatives to ensure effective management of crises and public health challenges. Promote equitable access to healthcare services for women, children, youth, and other vulnerable populations. Contribute to the oversight and assessment of health interventions through systematic monitoring and evaluation processes. IDEAL CANDIDATE A pertinent degree or professional qualification in Medicine, Nursing, Public Health, Clinical Medicine, or an allied field, as required for the role, is essential. Professional registration or licensing, as applicable, must be maintained to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Candidates with prior involvement in community or public health programming will receive preference. Demonstrates exceptional proficiency in health education, communication, and community mobilization. Capable of performing competently in outdoor or remote work environments.
