Living Goods empowers people to improve the health of their families, friends and communities. We support networks of 'Avon-like' health entrepreneurs who go door to door to teach families how to improve their health and wealth and sell life-changing products such as simple treatments for malaria and diarrhea, safe delivery kits, fortified foods, and other essential health products.
We are seeking a strategic and creative Digital Communications Manager to strengthen Living Goods' digital presence and elevate our profile among key audiences, including funders, government decision-makers, partners, and the global health community. This is a full-time position requiring a Bachelor's degree in Communications, Digital Media, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.
Reporting to the Director, Communications, the role will lead the development and execution of Living Goods' digital communications strategy across social media, web, email, and emerging digital channels. The successful candidate will combine strong storytelling skills with a data-driven approach to drive engagement, amplify thought leadership, and support business development, advocacy, and organizational objectives. The Digital Communications Manager will also serve as a steward of Living Goods' refreshed brand, ensuring consistency across all digital platforms and communications products.
Key Responsibilities
Digital Strategy
Implement a comprehensive digital communications strategy aligned with organizational goals and audience priorities. Manage the digital content calendar and coordinate content planning across teams and countries. Identify opportunities to increase engagement, visibility, and influence among funders, government stakeholders, partners, and global health audiences.
Content Development and Storytelling
Produce and edit high-quality digital content across multiple formats, including articles, blogs, social media copy, and more. Translate technical, policy, and programmatic information into accessible and compelling content for external audiences. Manage the content pipeline for Living Goods' digital platforms. Partner with country teams to source stories, insights, data, and multimedia content.
Social Media Management
Lead social media strategy and own day-to-day management across LinkedIn, X, Facebook, Instagram, and other emerging platforms. Create and curate engaging content that showcases our work across Kenya, Burkina Faso, and Uganda, strengthens engagement, and positions Living Goods as a thought leader in community health. Segment audiences and create content tailored for funders, governments, partners, and policymakers. Monitor channel performance, analyze audience insights, and continuously optimize content based on data. Manage crisis and reputation by monitoring digital channels and supporting rapid-response communications when needed.
Website Strategy and Management
Own the ongoing management and performance of the Living Goods' website. Work with external developers and consultants to improve user experience, SEO, and website performance while ensuring content remains current, engaging, and aligned with organizational priorities. Monitor website performance and recommend improvements based on analytics and user behavior.
Brand Stewardship
Serve as a guardian of Living Goods' brand by championing consistent application of the visual identity and messaging across all digital channels. Work with external consultants to develop digital assets, graphics, and short-form video content that reflects our new brand. Ensure brand consistency and quality control across all digital communications products. All content should reflect Living Goods' voice, messaging framework, and brand standards.
Organizational Support
Support communications planning around major global health moments, conferences, announcements, and organizational campaigns by developing content that strengthens Living Goods' brand. Support senior leaders in building their digital presence and thought leadership through strategic content planning and social media support. Provide guidance and training to staff on digital communications best practices, responsible social media use, and brand standards. If necessary, create digital communications guidelines. Organize and upload all key outreach assets on external platforms such as Vimeo, Flickr, and YouTube, as well as internal platforms.
Experience and Skills
Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in digital communications, communications, marketing, or related fields, with significant responsibility for website, social media, and content management. Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear, compelling, and audience-focused content. Demonstrated experience executing successful digital communications strategies and campaigns. Strong understanding of social media platforms, audience segmentation and engagement, and content optimization. Proficiency in website content management systems, preferably WordPress, and understanding of SEO best practices. Experience using digital analytics tools, including Google Analytics and native social media analytics, to measure performance and generate actionable insights. Experience working in international development, public health, nonprofit organizations, government, or related sectors is a plus.
Technical Skills
Advanced proficiency in Canva, PowerPoint, and email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp. Experience using Adobe Creative Suite is an added advantage. Experience creating and editing basic multimedia content, including short-form videos and graphics. Experience using AI tools responsibly to support research, analytics, and workflow efficiency.

Education
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Digital Media, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field. Fluency in English is required. Working knowledge of French is an advantage.
