Mongu Trades Training Institute, an institution under the Ministry of Technology and Science, is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the positions of Lecturer in the following fields: Department: Academic Reports to: Head of Department Location: Mongu, Western Province Employment Type: Contract Closing Date: 12 th August, 2026. Job Purpose To plan, organize, and effectively utilize instructional materials to ensure the quality delivery of courses offered in line with approved curricula and TEVETA standards. Principal Accountabilities 1. Student performance Carry out tests in order to identify students’ performance levels Contribute to the institute’s continuous improvement cycle and committed to student development Use varied assessment and maximize student engagement and learning 2. Training needs Assessments Assist in carrying out needs assessments for courses and help in the formation of curricular for identified course Assess students’ performance through quizzes, assignments and testing, and provide one-on-one tutoring when necessary 3. Academic Research Guide students in their research work 4. Students welfare Provide guidance and counseling to students Manage and facilitate safe and supportive learning environments with an understanding of positive student welfare practices Set ambitious goals with students and monitor their progress while encouraging them through frequent and persisted feedback. 5. Student Discipline Maintain students’ discipline in class Ensure that all students are in compliance with the institutional rules and regulations Ensuring students attend lectures regularly. 6. Lecturing Manage the class and help in maintaining a health learning and classroom environment Creating a physical and virtual classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of the students. Prepare lesson plans, schemes and other professional documents to ensure contents are in line with TEVETA standards Prepare reports on students and activities as required by administration and TEVETA. Collaborate with other course unit lecturers to monitor weaknesses and strength of each student. 7. Any Other Duties Carry out any other duties as assigned by Management Minimum Qualifications and Experience Business Department Lecturer (3) Lecturer – Communication Skills
Grade 12 Certificate with five (5) credits or better, including English and Mathematics.
Bachelor of Arts with Education or equivalent with Majors in Communication, Linguistics)
Minimum of two (2) years teaching experience.
Teaching methodology for qualification without Education.
Knowledge of local languages will be an added advantage.
TEVETA accreditation Lecturer – Human Resource Management
Grade 12 Certificate with five (5) credits or better, including English and Mathematics.
Degree in Human Resource Management, Public administration or equivalent
Teaching Methodology qualification.
Minimum of two (2) years teaching experience.
TEVETA accreditation Lecturer – Business Administration
Grade 12 Certificate with five (5) credits or better, including English and Mathematics.
Degree in Business Administration or Equivalent
Teaching Methodology qualification.
Minimum of two (2) years teaching experience.
TEVETA accreditation Note: All qualifications must be certified by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA) Technical Department Lecturer – General Agriculture (2) Position one (1)
Grade 12 Certificate with five (5) credits or better, including English and Mathematics.
Degree in Agriculture Science
Minimum of two (2) years teaching experience.
