Distinct Star Schools, a reputable educational institution, is seeking a dedicated, highly qualified, and result-oriented Mathematics Teacher to inspire and educate our students. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, curriculum-aligned lessons that foster numerical literacy, critical thinking, and advanced problem-solving skills. By leveraging sound knowledge of the British and/or Scottish Curriculum, the successful applicant will contribute to the academic excellence of our students.
Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum Delivery: Design, prepare, and execute high-quality Mathematics lesson plans in line with the British and/or Scottish Curriculum standards.
Instructional Excellence: Teach mathematical concepts, algebra, geometry, statistics, and calculus using interactive methods, real-world applications, and digital learning tools.
Assessment & Tracking: Prepare, administer, and grade tests, assignments, and examinations; track individual student performance and maintain up-to-date academic records.
Classroom Management: Maintain a structured, safe, and productive learning environment that promotes positive behavior, active participation, and mutual respect.
Differentiated Learning: Identify struggling students or high achievers and adapt teaching strategies to support diverse learning needs through targeted interventions.
Exam Preparation: Coach and prepare students for national and international standardized Mathematics examinations.
Parent Communication: Prepare detailed progress reports and participate in parent-teacher consultations to discuss student academic development and behavioral growth.
Continuous Professional Development: Participate in staff meetings, departmental workshops, and professional development sessions to keep abreast of modern pedagogical practices.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or Mathematics Education.
Minimum of 3 years of verifiable teaching experience.
TRCN (Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria) certification is mandatory.
PGDE (Postgraduate Diploma in Education) is required.
Sound knowledge of the British and/or Scottish Curriculum.
Strong classroom management, communication, and instructional skills.
