JOB DESCRIPTION Position: Project Officer Location : Lusaka Reporting to: AHDI Executive Director Project: Building Effective Networks (BEN) Contract Duration: One year renewable Purpose of the Role The Project Officer will facilitate the execution of the BEN project by organizing field operations, fostering stakeholder engagement, and guaranteeing the attainment of project goals. Close collaboration with local authorities and partner organizations will be essential to deliver community-based rehabilitation interventions effectively. Key Responsibilities Project Implementation & Coordination Oversee and coordinate the daily field operations for the designated project site. “Diligently oversee the completion of project tasks in alignment with the established work plan and prescribed timeline.” Assist the Project Coordinator in fostering relationships with partners, government agencies, and community organizations to ensure effective communication and collaboration. Provide support in the delivery of training and capacity-building initiatives for diverse stakeholder groups. 2.Monitoring & Evaluation Gather and systematically record information pertaining to project activities, beneficiaries, and resulting outcomes. Perform routine on-site evaluations to monitor project advancement and document observations. Ensure adherence to Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) frameworks while offering constructive feedback to enhance project outcomes. 3.Stakeholder Engagement & Advocacy Organize and lead discussions with governmental representatives, local leaders, and community organizations to foster collaboration and address key initiatives. Build and foster collaborative relationships with partner organizations and disability rights groups to enhance mutual support and advocacy efforts. Advocate for the integration of disability inclusion strategies across local development initiatives and policy frameworks. 4.Financial & Administrative Support Collaborate closely with finance teams to monitor project expenditures and uphold financial accountability throughout the process. Assist in the coordination and strategic planning of procurement and logistics operations to support project execution. Periodically compile and deliver comprehensive project reports in accordance with established timelines and organizational standards. 5 Handle additional tasks as assigned by supervisors to support ongoing operations and team objectives. Key Specification Essential Qualifications: A diploma in Physiotherapy, Special Education, Social Work, or Development Studies is required. A bachelor’s degree in a related field would be advantageous. Specialized expertise in the care and management of children with cerebral palsy is required. Other essential requirements: Seasoned in engaging with community stakeholders and collaborating with volunteers, bringing a proven track record of effective teamwork and hands-on involvement in grassroots initiatives. Accomplished professionals with a proven track record in collaborating effectively with diverse stakeholders across various departments and organizational levels are sought for this role. The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of [X] years of experience in stakeholder management, demonstrating the ability to navigate complex relationships and align interests to achieve shared objectives. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential to build trust, manage expectations, and foster productive partnerships with internal and external parties. Proficiency in at least two local languages is required for effective communication. Excellent interpersonal skills. Capable of collaborating effectively within a team setting. Skilled in administering and overseeing funds from institutional donors. Proven capacity for autonomous work and flexibility to accommodate non-standard hours when necessary. Solid proficiency in budgeting and financial administration is essential. Proficiency in computer systems and applications is essential, with a strong emphasis on technical competence and operational skills.
