We are currently seeking dedicated professionals for the following roles:
1. Mixologist
Job Type: Full Time | Qualification: Vocational | Job Field: Food, Beverage and Hospitality
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and serve cocktails, mocktails, wines, beers, spirits, juices, and other beverages. Follow approved recipes, measurements, portion sizes, and presentation standards. Create attractive signature cocktails and mocktails that complement the restaurant’s menu. Ensure beverages are prepared promptly, consistently, and according to customer preferences. Welcome customers and provide professional, attentive, and friendly bar service. Recommend suitable beverages based on customer preferences, meals, and occasions. Promote beverage specials, premium products, signature drinks, and available offers. Upsell wines, spirits, cocktails, bottle service, bar snacks, and other menu items. Maintain good knowledge of beverage brands, ingredients, garnishes, and preparation techniques. Set up the bar before service and ensure beverages, tools, ice, garnishes, and glassware are available. Keep the bar counter, equipment, glassware, preparation areas, and storage spaces clean and organized. Monitor bar stock and request replenishment before products run out. Receive, count, and record beverages and bar supplies delivered to the restaurant. Participate in stock counts and reconcile physical stock against sales and stock records. Control portions and minimize over-pouring, spillages, breakages, and beverage wastage. Report stock shortages, damaged products, expired items, and unusual stock variances. Enter customer orders and process payments accurately using the approved point-of-sale system. Record complimentary drinks, discounts, cancellations, wastage, and breakages as required. Ensure opened bottles, garnishes, mixers, and other ingredients are properly stored and secured. Monitor alcohol consumption and avoid serving underage or visibly intoxicated customers. Handle customer complaints and difficult situations calmly and professionally. Assist with beverage packages and bar setups for corporate events, parties, weddings, and private functions. Set up and operate mobile bars during banqueting, outdoor, and off-site catering events. Pack, transport, arrange, and account for beverages, bar tools, glassware, ice, and catering supplies.
Responsibilities:
Complete bar opening and closing duties according to restaurant procedures. Follow hygiene, responsible alcohol service, safety, and customer service standards.
Profile Sought:
Certification in Mixology and Bartending from a recognized institution or a related field is highly preferred. At least 2 years of experience as a mixologist in a bar set up is highly recommended. Strong knowledge of cocktail and mocktail preparation, wines, beers, spirits, garnishes, and beverage presentation.
Required Skills:
Good customer service, communication, sales, and upselling skills. Ability to create attractive and commercially appealing cocktails and mocktails. Experience in bar stock control, portion control, and point-of-sale systems. Knowledge of responsible alcohol service, hygiene, and safety standards. Honest, reliable, well groomed, and attentive to detail. Ability to remain calm and professional during busy service periods. Ability to work productively both independently and as part of a team. Must be physically fit and able to stand for long hours. Willingness to work extended and late shifts, evenings, weekends, and public holidays. Must be comfortable working in banqueting and outside catering setups. Must be able to carry beverage crates, bar equipment, and catering supplies when supporting outside catering events. Must be ready to attend a physical interview and practical skills assessment covering mixology expertise, bar setup and presentation.
2. Barista cum Waiter/Waitress
Job Type: Full Time | Qualification: Vocational | Experience: 2 years | Location: Nairobi | Job Field: Food, Beverage and Hospitality
Key Responsibilities:
Welcome customers warmly and provide prompt and professional service. Present menus and explain available meals, beverages, daily specials, and promotions. Take accurate food and beverage orders and communicate them promptly to the kitchen. Prepare and serve coffee, tea, hot chocolate, juices, smoothies, milkshakes, and other beverages. Operate coffee machines, grinders, blenders, and other beverage equipment correctly. Ensure all beverages are prepared consistently and presented according to restaurant standards. Serve food and drinks promptly while observing proper table service procedures. Check on customers during service and attend to additional requests. Handle customer enquiries, feedback, and complaints professionally, escalating serious concerns to the Restaurant Manager. Recommend suitable menu items and upsell beverages, desserts, side dishes, and meal combinations. Process customer orders, bills, and payments accurately using the approved point-of-sale system. Clear and reset tables and keep dining areas near and ready for incoming customers. Maintain cleanliness of the coffee station, tables, service counters, equipment, and utensils. Monitor beverage ingredients and service supplies and report low stock levels promptly. Record and report breakages, malfunctions and damaged items promptly. Assist with opening and closing duties, including setting up and cleaning service areas. Support takeaway, delivery, event, and catering orders where required. Assist with setting up and serving customers during outdoor and off-site catering events. Follow food safety, hygiene, grooming, and workplace safety standards. Work closely with kitchen, cashier, bar, and service staff to ensure smooth service delivery.
Qualifications and Skills:
Certification in Barista Training, Food and Beverage Service, Hospitality, or a related field is preferred. At least 2 years of experience as a barista. Knowledge of coffee preparation, beverage service, and table service. Strong customer service, communication, and upselling skills. Ability to operate coffee equipment and point-of-sale systems. Honest, reliable, well-groomed, and able to work effectively in a team. Ability to remain calm and professional during busy service periods. Ability to work productively both independently and as a team. Must be physically fit and able to stand for long hours. Willingness to work extended shifts, evenings, weekends, and public holidays. Must be comfortable working in banqueting, outdoor, and outside catering setups. Must be able to carry catering supplies when supporting outside catering setups. Must be ready to attend a physical and practical expertise test interview on Barista and waiter/waitressing skills.
