Position: Underground Mine Sampler Department: Technical Services Reports To: Senior Geologist Employment Type: Full-Time Location: LC&Y Chibuluma Mine Plc (Lufwanyama,Copperbelt) Number of Positions: 1 Job Purpose To collect accurate and representative underground ore and waste samples in accordance with company procedures and geological standards to support grade control, resource evaluation, and mine planning while ensuring strict adherence to mine safety regulations. Key Responsibilities
Collect underground face, channel, chip, grab, and development samples in accordance with established sampling procedures.
Ensure samples are correctly labelled, recorded, and securely transported to the laboratory.
Assist geologists with underground geological mapping and sample collection programmes.
Maintain accurate sampling records and documentation.
Identify and report geological features and any abnormalities encountered underground.
Ensure proper care and maintenance of sampling equipment.
Comply with all Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental (OHSE) policies and procedures.
Wear and maintain appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
Participate in toolbox meetings, safety inspections, and emergency preparedness activities.
Perform any other duties assigned by the Geology Department. Minimum Qualifications
Grade 12 School Certificate.
Certificate or Diploma in Mining, Geology, Mineral Processing, or a related field will be an added advantage.
Valid Underground Blasting or Mine Safety Training Certificate is an added advantage.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in underground mining operations, preferably in sampling or geology support.
Knowledge of underground sampling techniques and grade control procedures.
Ability to read underground plans and follow geological instructions.
Physically fit and able to work in underground mining conditions.
