WWF IS HIRING LANDSCAPE MANAGERS (03) i. Landscape Manager – Kafue Landscape Location: Monze/Mazabuka ii. Landscape Manager – Upper Zambezi Landscape Location: Mongu iii. Landscape Manager – KAZA Landscape Location: Sesheke 2.1 MAJOR FUNCTIONS The Landscape Manager provides strategic leadership, technical guidance, and coordination for WWF Zambia’s conservation programme within a designated landscape. The role ensures high-impact, community-responsive, and science-based conservation outcomes aligned with WWF Zambia’s Office Strategic Plan, Road Map 2030, and national conservation priorities. Responsibilities include: Programme design and implementation. Stakeholder engagement. Fundraising. Reporting. Oversight of field teams and transboundary programmes within the landscape. 2.2 MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 2.2.1 Programme Development and Implementation Lead the development, review, and implementation of the Landscape Conservation Action Plan (LCAP) and Annual Work Plans aligned with WWF Zambia’s Office Strategic Plan. Oversee planning and implementation of conservation activities while ensuring compliance with donor requirements and WWF standards. Provide technical support in monitoring, evaluation, learning, and adaptive management using WWF performance systems. Promote integrated multi-sectoral approaches covering livelihoods, climate resilience, biodiversity management, water stewardship, and sustainable financing. Ensure timely submission of high-quality technical, financial, and donor reports. Serve as focal point for at least one WWF Global Practice (Food, Climate & Energy, Green Economy, Governance, or Biodiversity). 2.2.2 Partnerships, Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement Build and strengthen partnerships with government ministries, traditional authorities, Community Resource Boards, private sector partners, and conservation NGOs. Facilitate collaboration across WWF Zambia programmes and the WWF Network. Support research, innovation, publications, and knowledge generation. Represent WWF Zambia on relevant national and regional conservation platforms. Support implementation of national and regional conservation policies at landscape level. Facilitate transboundary collaboration with neighbouring countries where applicable. Promote integrated landscape approaches linking biodiversity conservation, livelihoods, climate resilience, and governance. Manage multi-stakeholder platforms involving government, communities, traditional leadership, and the private sector. 2.2.3 Resource Mobilisation and Budget Management Develop bankable conservation proposals as part of WWF Zambia’s fundraising strategy. Lead budgeting, financial planning, and expenditure tracking in collaboration with the Finance Unit. Ensure efficient and transparent management of WWF Zambia’s assets and resources within the landscape. 2.2.4 Leadership and People Management Provide day-to-day leadership and supervision of field and programme staff. Coordinate annual work plans and individual performance targets. Conduct periodic performance reviews. Identify staff training needs and coordinate capacity-building initiatives. Uphold organizational values, accountability, compliance, and ethical standards. Lead conflict resolution and maintain a positive team culture. 2.3 QUALIFICATIONS Applicants must possess: Master’s Degree in Natural Resource Management, Environmental Science, Ecology, Forestry, Fisheries, Wildlife Management, Conservation Biology, Climate Change, Sustainable Development, Environmental Economics, or a related field. Advanced management or leadership training will be an added advantage. Minimum of 10 years’ professional experience , including at least 5 years at management level in conservation or natural resource management. Proven experience in programme development and management, budgeting, technical and financial reporting, and donor compliance. Experience working with government, communities, private sector partners, and conservation organizations in Zambia. 2.4 SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES Applicants should demonstrate: Agility and adaptive management.
