Job Scope: The Site Supervisor oversees on-site activities, managing both workforce coordination and the execution of construction tasks. This position prioritizes hands-on supervision and daily operational efficiency to ensure seamless project implementation. Job Description Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of site laborers, ensuring all tasks align with project plans and specifications. Deliver expert technical counsel and practical assistance to field personnel, elucidating construction methodologies and addressing on-site obstacles as they arise. Ensure materials, tools, and equipment are utilized appropriately, waste is minimized, and operational efficiency is sustained. Interpret construction drawings and convey technical specifications to site teams to ensure precise implementation. To ensure adherence to safety standards and building codes, the incumbent will oversee the quality of workmanship and enforce compliance throughout all stages of construction. Effectively coordinate and deploy personnel to ensure timely project completion. Perform routine site assessments to proactively detect any potential issues, followed by the immediate implementation of corrective actions. Coordinate with engineers and contractors to ensure site operations are in alignment with the project’s strategic goals. Maintain accurate daily records of labor attendance, work progress, and material consumption. Responsibilities include providing training and mentoring to site workers regarding technical skills, safety protocols, and optimal construction methods. To maintain a clean, organized work environment while fully complying with all environmental regulations. The incumbent will be responsible for providing regular updates to the site engineer regarding the progress of site operations, any obstacles encountered, and the resource requirements necessary for seamless project execution. Assist in conducting tests on various materials, including concrete, soil, blocks, and steel, to verify adherence to established technical standards. 14. Assist in the preparation of Bills of Quantities (BOQ’s) and ensure the accuracy of quantities throughout the construction phase. Responsible for supervising minor repairs, adjustments, and ongoing maintenance of structures throughout the project and following its completion. Responsibilities include performing surveying and leveling tasks to set reference points, elevations, and alignments critical for construction activities. Properly establish and verify the alignment and positioning of foundations, columns, walls, and other structural components. Qualifications and Experience Hold a diploma or bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. All academic qualifications must be authenticated by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZARA). Registered and financially up-to-date membership with the Engineering Institution of Zambia (LIZ) is an essential requirement. Holding a current and valid professional license is a mandatory requirement for this position. Possesses a minimum of five to seven years of direct hands-on experience in the execution of construction projects.
