Cleaner Techician (3 Positions), Antananarivo, Madagascar Organization: International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) Country: Madagascar City: Antananarivo Office: IITA in Antananarivo Cleaner Techician (3 Positions) On-site Madagascar Contract IITA/MDG/002 Antananarivo, Analamanga, Madagascar Antananarivo, Analamanga, Madagascar Description Position: Cleaner Technician Contract: 6-months renewable contract Location: Antananarivo, Madagascar The Cleaner Technician is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic working environment at the IITA Madagascar office by ensuring the cleanliness and general upkeep of offices, common areas, building surroundings, and office facilities. The incumbent supports the efficient functioning of the workplace by maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and order in accordance with IITA's operational requirements. DUTIES Clean windows (interior side), window frames, glass partitions and glass doors; Dust all furniture and clean surfaces (desks, side tables, bookshelves, filing cabinets, chairs); Lightly clean IT equipment to remove dust; Empty trash bins and replace plastic bags; Mop/sweep floors and stairs; Clean the large plant pots around the building; Clean the sidewalks around the building; Clean the building's main entrances and security booths; Clean the emergency exit stairs; Ensure daily collection of building trash; Perform any other related duties assigned by the supervisor. Requirements QUALIFICATION: Secondary school certificate or equivalent. Basic literacy and numeracy are required. At least two (02) years of experience as a cleaner/janitor/office attendant. COMPETENCIES: Exemplifying integrity and demonstrating commitment to IITA. Embracing cultural diversity and change. Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to use initiative and sound judgment. Ability to take on other responsibilities as needed. Fluency in Malagasy, ability to understand and speak French and English.
