Job Overview The Curriculum Development Specialist will lead the design, adaptation, and implementation of competency‑based curricula for primary and secondary education in Rwanda. Key Responsibilities Lead the end‑to‑end development of curricula for core subjects, incorporating competency‑based frameworks and digital learning resources. Conduct needs assessments and stakeholder consultations with teachers, school leaders, and policy makers to ensure relevance and feasibility. Collaborate with subject matter experts to produce lesson plans, assessment tools, and teacher guides that reflect inclusive and gender‑responsive pedagogy. Coordinate pilot testing in selected schools, gather feedback, and refine materials based on evidence‑based analysis. Provide technical assistance and capacity‑building workshops for curriculum trainers and educators across Rwanda. Monitor and evaluate the impact of curriculum interventions, preparing reports for donors and senior management. Ensure alignment with Rwanda’s Vision 2050 education goals and World Bank’s strategic objectives. Required Skills Strong expertise in curriculum design, instructional design, and competency‑based education. Proficiency in integrating ICT tools and e‑learning platforms into curriculum materials. Excellent analytical, research, and report‑writing abilities. Effective communication and facilitation skills for diverse stakeholder groups.
