Travel Booking & Ticketing Specialist – DAR

Description We are actively seeking a reservation and Ticketing Agent to join our team in Dar es Salaam (DAR). Based in Tanzania, your role will involve delivering comprehensive, service-oriented professional reservations and ticketing solutions to all clients and travel industry partners, either via telephone interactions or face-to-face consultations, ensuring the highest levels of customer satisfaction while meeting annual revenue targets. Key accountabilities

• Make and confirm reservations for passengers.
• Utilize timetables, airline manuals, and reference guides to manage reservations and coordinate routing efficiently.
• Accurately calculate and issue tickets with the correct fare to mitigate passenger complaints and prevent debit notes. Provide guidance regarding modifications to flight plans, including recommendations for cancellation or confirmation of reservations. Provide guidance to load control staff and other stations regarding updates to passenger itineraries to manage space effectively and optimize flight seating capacity.
• Verify that sales reports are finalized punctually, adhering to the established deadlines.
• Drive the adoption and commercial success of the QR product to enhance revenue streams. Record and process reservations received via phone, fax, or email while handling telex communications and authorizations. Manage the Help Desk by providing support to travel agents, including processing seat confirmations and presenting upgrade or downgrade proposals. Handles the issuance of refunds, including the processing of lost tickets and those that have exceeded the time limit for claims. Examine each passenger’s ticket to provide accurate guidance and ensure proper direction throughout their journey. Plan routes and calculate ticket costs by utilizing schedules, rate books, and computer systems. To advise customers or travel agents of any changes to travel arrangements or to confirm reservations, as well as present available alternatives, you will communicate via telephone.

Responsible for processing and distributing tickets to customers via mail or electronic transmission. Respond to inquiries from travel agencies or transportation providers, including airlines, bus companies, railroad companies, and steamship lines.
