The insecurity has led to massive and repeated displacements. The impact of violence on civilians is a major concern with regular violations of human rights and international humanitarian law, including targeted attacks on civilians and a high prevalence of gender-based violence. INTERSOS has been present in the DRC since 2010 and is currently working in Ituri, North Kivu, South Kivu, and Haut Uele through protection programs, including protection monitoring in partnership with the Humanitarian Fund and UNHCR, and nutrition programs in partnership with WFP and UNICEF.
