Doctors with Africa CUAMM opère en Sierra Leone depuis 2012. Sa mission est d'améliorer l'accès à des soins de santé primaires et secondaires de qualité, avec une attention particulière à la santé maternelle et infantile, en utilisant notamment le réseau d'agents de santé communautaires (CHW), ainsi que la nutrition, la prévention, le diagnostic et le traitement des maladies transmissibles et non transmissibles. CUAMM travaille pour sauver des vies en luttant contre la faim et les maladies qui menacent les communautés vulnérables, à travers la nutrition, la sécurité alimentaire, l'eau et l'assainissement, la santé et le plaidoyer.

Le/la Community Mobilizer coordonnera et soutiendra le travail des agents de santé communautaires (CHW) et des groupes de soutien aux mères (MSG) dans le dépistage précoce des cas de malnutrition au niveau communautaire. Il/elle mènera des actions de sensibilisation communautaire, supervisera les séances de conseil des groupes de soutien aux mères, assistera les aidants dans l'accès aux services nutritionnels et assurera des liens réguliers entre les communautés et les établissements de santé.

Objectif 1 : Soutenir et participer à la planification des activités de mobilisation communautaire pour une mise en œuvre efficace

  • Encadrer et coacher les CHW et les membres des MSG dans les communautés, en veillant à leur fonctionnalité pour des conseils, un dépistage communautaire et des procédures de référence efficaces.

  • Soutenir le dépistage actif et la référence des enfants présentant des signes de malnutrition, en collaboration avec les CHW et les MSG.

  • Sensibiliser les communautés aux pratiques d'alimentation du nourrisson et du jeune enfant (MIYCF), à l'hygiène et aux comportements de recours précoce aux soins.

  • Soutenir l'organisation de démonstrations culinaires et d'éducation nutritionnelle utilisant des aliments locaux.

  • Participer à la conception, au test et à la diffusion de supports d'information, d'éducation et de communication (IEC) adaptés au contexte local.

  • Assurer le suivi de l'utilisation appropriée des supports et outils IEC au niveau communautaire fournis par CUAMM.

  • Participer à l'identification des faiblesses et des défis des activités de mobilisation communautaire mises en œuvre et contribuer aux recommandations.

  • Soutenir les activités de mobilisation communautaire pour les services de proximité organisés par les établissements de santé.

  • Rapporter les défis et les retours de la communauté à l'équipe du projet pour une réponse rapide.Objectif 2 : Représenter l'organisation au niveau communautaire

  • Présenter, selon les besoins, l'objectif principal du projet aux différents partenaires locaux, bénéficiaires du projet, leaders traditionnels et religieux au niveau communautaire.

  • Assurer une liaison efficace avec les autorités communautaires, le personnel des établissements de santé et les autres bénéficiaires pour une mise en œuvre fluide du projet.Objectif 3 : Soutenir et participer aux activités de suivi, évaluation, redevabilité et apprentissage (MEAL)

  • Assurer l'utilisation d'outils appropriés pour le suivi et le reporting des activités au niveau communautaire.

  • Organiser des réunions mensuelles de planification et de rapport avec les CHW et les mères leaders des MSG.

  • Assurer le suivi des activités de routine des MSG et des CHW.

  • Soutenir la collecte de données au niveau communautaire et contribuer au reporting mensuel.

  • Présenter un rapport hebdomadaire sur toutes les activités menées.

  • Participer avec l'équipe MEAL à la réalisation d'enquêtes et d'évaluations si nécessaire.

  • Générer et partager avec la direction des success stories de bénéficiaires issues des communautés.**

  • Diplôme minimum en santé communautaire, travail social ou domaine connexe.
  • Au moins 1 an d'expérience dans des programmes communautaires.
  • Capacité à travailler en étroite collaboration avec les communautés locales de manière respectueuse et inclusive.
  • Volonté de travailler dans le district de Pujehun en Sierra Leone.
  • Compétences de base en collecte de données et reporting.
  • Bonne communication orale et écrite en anglais et dans les langues locales.
  • La capacité à conduire une moto est un atout.

Doctors with Africa CUAMM operates in Sierra Leone since 2012, its mission is to enhance access to quality primary and secondary health care with a specific attention to maternal and child health care by using the network of CHWs as well, nutrition, communicable and non-communicable diseases’ prevention, diagnostic and treatment services. Doctors with Africa CUAMM works to save lives by combating hunger and diseases that threaten the lives of vulnerable communities, through nutrition, food security, water and sanitation, health and advocacy. Job title : Community Mobilizer Duty Station : Pujehun Department : Programs Reporting to : Project Manager (first responsible), Contract type : Fixed-term contract ( 8 months), with 4-months probation period, and with possibility of renewal based on performance and available funds.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Community Mobilizer will coordinate and support the work of Community Health Workers (CHWs) and Mother Support Groups (MSGs) in the early detection of malnutrition cases at the community level. The officer will lead community awareness and oversee counselling sessions by Mother Support groups (MSG), assist caregivers in accessing nutrition services, and ensure regular linkages between communities and health facilities. The main responsibilities are: Objective 1: Support and participate in the planning of community mobilization activities for effective implementation Mentor and coach CHWs and MSG members in communities ensuring their functionality for effective counselling, community screeningand referral procedures. Support active screening and referral of children with signs of malnutrition through collaboration with CHWs and MSGs. Raise awareness in communities on Maternal infant and young child feeding (MIYCF), hygiene, and early care-seeking practices.

Formation / Diplômes

Support the organization of cooking demonstrations and nutrition education using local foods Participate in designing/testing/disseminating IEC materials adapted to the local context. Follow-up on proper utilization of IEC materials and tools at community levels provided by CUAMM participate in the Identification of weaknesses and challenges of community mobilization activities implemented and contribute to recommendations Support community mobilization activities for outreach activities organised by health facilities Report challenges and feedback from the community to the project team for timely response. Objective 2: Representing the Organization at community level As required, present the main focus of the project to the various local partners, project beneficiaries, traditional and religious leaders at community level Liaise effectively with the community authorities, Health facility staff and other beneficiaries for smooth project implementation. Objective 3: Support and Participate in MEAL activities Ensure the use of proper tools for tracking and reporting community-level activities. Organize monthly planning and reporting meetings with CHWs and MSG Lead Mothers Follow up on routine activities of MSG and CHWs Support data collection at community level and contribute to monthly reporting. Present a weekly report on all activities undertaken Participate with M&E team in conducting surveys and assessment when needed Generate and share with management beneficiary success story from communities

Profil recherché

Minimum of Diploma in Community Health, Social Work or related field.

Expérience

At least 1 year of experience in community-based programmes. Ability to work closely with local communities in a respectful and inclusive way. Willingness to work in Pujehun District of Sierra Leone;

Compétences requises

Basic data collection and reporting skills. Good oral and written communication in English and local languages Ability to ride a motorbike is an asset. Desirable Skills: Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, partner agencies, key contacts in the government, and CSO. Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office and data collection tools).
