Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Cryptocurrency Exchange Compliance Officer to join our growing team in Gicumbi. This critical role involves ensuring that our cryptocurrency exchange operations comply with all applicable Rwandan regulations, international financial standards, and internal policies. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring compliance programs specifically tailored to digital asset exchanges, including anti-money laundering (AML), counter-terrorist financing (CTF), know-your-customer (KYC), and transaction monitoring systems. This position represents a unique job vacancy in Rwanda at the intersection of cutting-edge financial technology and rigorous regulatory frameworks. You will work closely with global compliance teams, local regulators including the National Bank of Rwanda, and internal stakeholders to build a robust compliance infrastructure that supports sustainable growth while protecting our users and the integrity of the financial system. This role is ideal for professionals passionate about shaping the future of finance while ensuring it operates within established legal boundaries.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive compliance policies and procedures for cryptocurrency exchange operations in Rwanda and the East African region. Conduct regular risk assessments to identify and mitigate compliance risks associated with digital asset trading, custody, and related services. Monitor and analyze regulatory developments in Rwanda and across Africa related to cryptocurrency, blockchain, and financial technology. Oversee the AML/CFT program, including customer due diligence, enhanced due diligence for high-risk clients, transaction monitoring, and suspicious activity reporting. Serve as the primary point of
