Director of Operations Technical Training Programs

Core Competencies: Material Supply, Customs Clearance, Road Freight, Material Handling, Storage and Warehousing. Offshore and onshore equipment rental services facilitate the provision of specialized machinery and tools for a wide range of industrial applications. Role Overview The Head of Management & Training oversees the design, delivery, development, and ongoing maintenance of the Alistair Group’s training programs—including specialized training—while also establishing and refining processes for the efficient management of personnel. This role involves leveraging discipline, communication, data-driven analytics, and strategic problem-solving to enhance workforce performance and operational effectiveness.

Responsibilities Provide assistance to the Alistair Group Operations team to ensure that all training and management objectives are fulfilled to the expected standard and in full alignment with the company’s core values. Perform periodic assessments of operational requirements to verify that each fleet maintains a minimum 10% surplus capacity at all times. Deliver training and management initiatives in strict conformity with the pertinent directives, established processes, and quality standards outlined by Alistair. You will deliver instruction, guidance, and mentorship to Managers and Trainers while ensuring adherence to all Alistair training and management protocols. Review all instructional materials to confirm their suitability for the programs offered, providing recommendations as needed. Develop and introduce innovative training and management methodologies, secure necessary approvals, spearhead their integration, and ensure strict adherence to established Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Deliver instruction in a professional, timely, and accurate manner, aligning with globally recognized best practices. Maintain meticulous documentation by accurately capturing, managing, and updating all training and compliance records within the designated dashboards and internal systems. Conduct monthly assessments to deliver detailed performance feedback. Spearhead all disciplinary issues. Facilitate and oversee performance evaluations as well as disciplinary actions whenever warranted. Maintain adherence to established company policies, internal procedures, and all applicable legal requirements. Liaise with external stakeholders. Suggest novel concepts or approaches that could enhance the efficacy of training and management practices. You are responsible for championing and advancing the Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) vision and values of Alistair Group with enthusiasm and dedication. Please ensure all accidents, thefts, fines, and breakdowns are promptly reported to the appropriate departments while ensuring full compliance with all legal obligations. Gather and disseminate timely information regarding Alistair Group’s strategic interests and the dynamics of the markets in which we operate to senior management and key internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment and informed decision-making. Execute any additional duties as assigned by the Head of Operations and/or the Principals.

Education & Experience A Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Finance, Economics, or Business Management is required. A degree with honors or at the master’s level is preferred, with an MBA being an additional advantage. Minimum 5 to 10 years of hands-on experience in Training and Management is required. Proficiency in operating articulated vehicles, particularly HOW SING models equipped with splitter gearboxes, is required. Proficiency in operating triable, pup, and super-link trailers is required. Train the Trainer Certification. Trainer Certification. Dangerous Goods Certification. Experienced in transport management software solutions with a strong working knowledge of industry-standard platforms. Zambian Citizen.
