The Key Purpose This position is responsible for implementing, managing, and executing asset care routines to produce high-quality results, while also optimizing equipment reliability and availability to maximize value.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Asset Care & Equipment Reliability Implement and oversee asset care protocols to maintain the peak operational efficiency of quality assurance instrumentation. Ensure the ongoing reliability, availability, and performance of assurance equipment through continuous maintenance and enhancements. Conduct routine preventive maintenance and execute corrective actions as needed on instrumentation systems to ensure optimal functionality and reliability. Proactively evaluate equipment performance to identify potential risks and mitigate impending failures before they occur. To guarantee that instrument calibration and validation processes adhere to established quality standards.

Quality Assurance & Process Control Ensure consistent product quality by taking ownership of the Quality Source process. Ensure consistent quality by analyzing and tracking process inputs and outputs to maintain control over key variables. Enforce and uphold Quality Focused Requirements (QFRs), while implementing and tracking corresponding reaction plans with diligence. Assist production teams with resolving quality-related issues to ensure adherence to standards. Maintain adherence to established internal quality benchmarks and applicable regulatory obligations to safeguard operational integrity and adherence to established guidelines.

Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement Perform root cause analysis employing the 5 Why's technique alongside other problem-solving methodologies to systematically identify underlying issues. Develop and maintain problem-solving tools, including Problem Terminator, to ensure efficient resolution of issues. Develop and implement AB reports to analyze performance and identify deviations. Assess the efficacy of corrective measures and ensure the continuity of enhancements. Contribute to ongoing enhancement efforts that adhere to IPO principles.

Project & Systems Management Provide assistance and implement capital expenditure initiatives focused on instrumentation and quality systems. Play a key role in the installation, commissioning, and continuous optimization of newly acquired equipment to ensure peak operational performance and reliability. Leverage digital and IPO tools to enhance monitoring capabilities and reporting efficiency. Ensure meticulous documentation and seamless knowledge transfer for newly implemented systems.

Training & Capability Development Provide comprehensive training for frontline employees (FLE) that covers quality feedback responses (QFRs), established reaction protocols, and proper equipment operation. Provide technical coaching to facilitate the growth of autonomous teams and enhance their development. Upon successful hire, candidates must satisfactorily finish all mandatory onboarding protocols as well as technical competency training modules to ensure full readiness for their role. Ensure strict adherence to all SOAP (Skills Knowledge & Application Program) requirements at all times.

Operational Excellence (VPO Alignment) Implement IPO (Voyager Plant Optimization) principles within daily operational activities to enhance efficiency and performance. Engage collaboratively within self-directed teams to foster a sense of accountability and enhance overall productivity. Employ structured problem-solving methodologies and performance tracking systems to systematically analyze challenges and measure outcomes. Support achievement of plant performance targets.

Performance & KPI Accountability Drive improvements in equipment reliability. Achieve and consistently meet the established Brewery/Business Wide Controls (BWC) performance targets by executing all necessary actions and strategies to ensure compliance and operational excellence. Monitor instrumentation performance metrics and provide detailed reports on their status and trends. Maintain compliance with safety protocols, quality standards, and key performance indicators related to operational efficiency.

Compliance & Safety Ensure strict adherence to all safety, health, and environmental regulations governing the work environment. Adhere rigorously to established company protocols and applicable regulatory standards governing instrumentation systems to ensure compliance and operational integrity. Ensure adherence to established safety protocols while operating and managing electrical and instrumentation systems to mitigate potential hazards and maintain a secure working environment.

Collaboration & Communication Collaborate effectively with production, engineering, and quality teams to drive cohesive project outcomes and ensure operational excellence. You must convey the status of equipment, potential risks, and suggestions for improvement clearly and concisely. Offer technical expertise and guidance during audits, inspections, and evaluations to ensure compliance and operational excellence.

Key Attributes and Competencies: Completion of Workday 90-day onboarding modules. Demonstrates a comprehensive grasp of Instrumentation Technician SOAP requirements, ensuring 100% completion. Skilled in utilizing digital tools and Virtual Private Office (IPO) systems with a high degree of competence and efficiency. Proficiency in executing tasks aligned with Advanced Technical Operator (ATO) competencies at levels 1 through 5 is required. Possesses a solid grasp of the interplay between process inputs and outputs in a manufacturing setting, ensuring efficient operational workflows and adherence to quality standards. Demonstrates a strong aptitude for interpreting and implementing QFRs (Quality Focused Requirements) with precision and consistency. Problem solving and analytical thinking.

Minimum Requirements: Holders of an N3 Instrumentation/Electrical National Diploma in Electrical Engineering are required for this role. Minimum qualifications include one to two years of hands-on experience in an instrumentation, electrical, or manufacturing setting. Experience within FMCG.
